Eddie ha, gotta agree. I just hope my swirl has a similar shape, or maybe with more knarly looking horns \m/, I'm also hoping he puts the pick-up closer to the neck on mine, i just can't stand that burpy jazz tone. That bass does look pretty sweet though if I hadn't already placed an order I might buy it.

Perhaps this has been mentioned before, but I went looking through the wishbasses, and it appears that all the cutouts, cutaways, and small curves are done with large size drill bits, or a single plunge of a plunge router.

There are almost no compound (I think this is the term) curves. Nearly all the curves seem to be parts of perfect circles. (the sides of drill bits.)

As usual, I could be wrong, but what do you all think?

I think you're right. We'll probably see peace in the Middle East before we see a CNC machine in Wish's shop. I kinda like the circles though, simple and distictive.

I'd have to agree - the basic 'outside' body shapes might come from a template and then maybe bandsawed, but 'holes' sure look fixed-radius.

Doesn't bother me all that much, though. That's what holds the cost down, like the man says about his peghead cut.

Man, I spent some more time with my Nemo Wishy the past couple of nights, and the more I play it, the more I like it. This thing's got mwah like a dyslexic cat. Just a couple of buzzy spots, around the 2nd position on the D and G, so I may visit a local luthier to get it looked at. Since I bought it second hand, I don't know if the original owner modded the bridge or nut in any way, but this bass has replaced my old Brice V2 6er for the title of "Mr. Growly".

I am torn. In some places it looks perfectly natural, and at others, it's kind of like "why does the curve stop there" or "why are their two identical half circles next to each other"

Wish himself says something along these lines:

Steve: We have over 50 designs right now... some come from customers and some from my workers and most just flow out of my twisted brain... I try to use the natural curves the tools produce, so I don't have to fight the machines to get the curves and angles...

If your upper bout was a lot longer, you wouldn't have that problem. There's a reason that bass bodies are generally shaped the way they are with very long upper bouts.

How long has it taken people on here to get their wishbasses? He says minimum of 2 months but should I expect more/less than that?

I ordered a custom from him with a lot of extras.. In suspense now...

*pray* please no 2 x 4 sized neck ;) (i did specify dimensions)

At this point, the reason I want a wishbass is specifically for the headstock. I'd get something like that done on a more mainstream bass neck if I could - I just dig the look and feel (based on limited, two instrument exposure to a Wishnevsky guitar a while back).
