I agree, though, that it's nice to have an official unit in the hands of a non-Beat Buddy person.

Interesting way to describe hasbeen. He was one of the brains behind Genz Benz and has delivered some of the most qualified, deepest, most insightful reviews on TB. I'd trust his views way more than some of of the emotional schlock I've read on this thread.

He's not affiliated with Beat Buddy that I know of, so my description was accurate. I was not questioning anything about the quality of his reviews. I'm not sure what is "interesting" about my description.

You just can't stop criticizing this thread, while also repeatedly posting in it, can you. I guess you now know what hard drugs must be like.

So, why do I have a sample? KMC is the largest distributor in the industry and it is my job and my staff's job to decide what we distribute. Our proprietary product and spec out and import myself. For "vendor supplied" product, it is well......supplied to us. When somebody is looking for distribution of their product, it is common protocol for them to send early samples. That way if we give it the green light, they can have their channels established when shipments hit.

I don't think anyone is upset at you in the slightest---we're just all chomping at the bit for this product and were very curious. What you said lines up with what I think most of us assumed. I look forward to hearing what you say once you have the product at home.

It seems to me that those who spit venom in their 'valuable' contribution rather than chilling and making a reasoned point are the ones of questionable intellect. Just my opinion of course.

So... how bout that BEAT BUDDY!

Well, I spent about two hours with it. Two applications:

* Running the Beat Buddy straight to a "mini" PA while I played along with my bass.
* Running the BB into a Roland looper. I run the looper in stereo. I bounce the recorded "loop" along with the BB to one amp and then play along with that "background" track by going to the the other amp. Putting the BB through the looper obviously keeps it in sync with my bass loop.

My impression in the end was very, very positive:

* The BB is much more intuitive than my Zoom.
* The kit sounds (samples) were obviously much more pleasing than electronic drum sounds. I also loved being able to choose different kits.
* Being able to add fills and transition to different beat versions on the fly is very, very cool.

Note/disclosure: I did not have the opportunity to use the software and create my own tracks. I think this will be a huge strength with this product though.

Conclusion: The product unto itself is a winner from my standpoint. It would become an often-used mainstay piece of gear for me. I don't have an opinion as to the market acceptance of the price ....one way or the other. I'm having one of my product managers investigate that. That is a major component of his job.

Tomorrow should be the beginning of order tracking MANIA for the first-rounders! If it's not, I kinda can't WAIT to see what Ukiah's input will be!! Would TB really be so much fun without the different types of people / responses?

I hope the second batch of orders ships soon too! Hasbeen's review has only stoked the fires!

I'd like to know the same thing. I preordered but I'm not sure where I fall in, perhaps it's based on how much you paid when you ordered one? The sooner you ordered, the lower the price was.

Even though I've advocated NOT shutting down the thread just because it happens to annoy some people, I think this is fine and reasonable. It's no longer a forum issue to go over 1000 posts, but certainly all of this buildup for the product and then to actually GET the product more than justifies a new thread.
