Worlds First Drum Machine in Pedal Form!

They've had some comments in their website FAQ (regarding when different order/production runs will ship) I think but I haven't kept track of it. By my own estimation, I was in the first handful of Indiegogo supporters at the $179 price; I was later told I was literally the first. So if I don't get mine close to first, that will be a traveshamockery! :D

Well, considering that says "August delivery" and that people like me have been shipped to (yet still await tracking numbers), I'm not sure that's the most up-to-date...

I was also a first-day buy-in - in the first couple-dozen.
But I have no expectations; I am just willing to be surprised when it happens ;-)
I'm with ArtechnikA: in on the first day and happily waiting the arrival of my Beatbuddy. Hé, I survived 43 years on this planet without a BB, I will survive a few more days. Besides, I'm typing this on an Apple commuter, so it will even be longer before I can start messing with the software.

@hasbeen - I am curious as to your experiences without having messed with the software at all. I am a bit (not hugely but a bit) of a technophobe and if the BB can work well without creating any new beats it would be a huge positive for me. I too use a Zoom and while I prefer its sounds to many others I have tried, I can't say I am a huge fan. I get that the real genius will be the ability to create very intricate sections etc but I don't see myself ever really doing that. If the thing is super fun out of the box, that's where my interest gets piqued.

Also - I would recommend you guys stay off of @Ukiah Bass - he is just trying to steer you guys away from confirmation bias which is rampant here. All we want is a decent review, not one that makes you feel better because you spent a lot of money and waited 6 months.

Thanks HasBeen, for your precursory glimpse into what awaits most of us here.

As for you first-day adopters, I hate you all because I wound up spending about 71 bucks more than you. :spit: At least I didn't wait for full retail, that would grate even more... So I'm an earlyish adopter, but Oooohhh to be a smug earliest adopter. *sigh* It took me a while to decide whether the BB would be of use to me/affordable/ROI...

...
It seems to me that those who spit venom in their 'valuable' contribution rather than chilling and making a reasoned point are the ones of questionable intellect. Just my opinion of course.

Reminds me of the Clash lyrics... "He who ****s nuns, will later join the church"! However, I agree with Mosfed... it takes all kinds to make a thread more fun and interesting. Ramp it up!

"We are little TB Lambers, who have a Beat Buddy on the way — blah, blah, blah... We are Beat Buddy sheep who want no further delay — blah, blah, blah..."

Hello Mosfed: Yes.....my review was sans software; it didn't come with any. A quick summary anyway. What advantages does this have over the Zoom when software is not taken into account?

* More intuitive interface
* Drum sample sounds
* You can add "on the fly" accents with the optional foot pedal.
* You can add fills and transition to revised beats on the fly.

What disadvantage to the Zoom?

* Not nearly as many factory presets as the Zoom. Man...the Zoom as a bazillion.
* Price? Maybe.....

That is it.

In conclusion. I'm like you in that I'm not very likely to go into software and program beats; I'd rather play bass. Having said that, if this was a permanent piece of gear for me, the Zoom would not get anymore use.

Thanks for that mate.

Btw - I like snow too. Check out some of our Tram Rider skiing videos - link in my sig. Starting around episode 4 we really got our sh1t together.

Meh...he has done a lot more than that. He made some very valuable contributions several pages back regarding software development and the like before shifting to trolling. I am sure people view me as one of the biggest "cheerleaders" around here, and I agree that it could be easy to lose perspective amid all the hype, but there's a difference between being the voice of reason to balance the hype and just being rude ("blah blah blah," asking/demanding that the thread be shut down, certain vulgar comparisons, etc.).

Agreed! As if my own hype meter wasn't already up to 11.

Let's just say I HOPE I will feel smug when my unit arrives and everyone is gassing for it and I know that I paid the cheapest possible price for it!

Wow....I checked out the video. Very, very cool. I'm jealous. That is fantasy stuff compared to the Vermont mountains I hit. Bring on winter
