Worship Bass Pedalboards

Hello bass thumping brethren,
I finally got my pedalboard up and running. Took me about five months to get everything together.

So I'm going:
Bass Guitar > Korg Pitchblack Tuner > EHX Pog 2 > Strymon Mobius > Strymon Big Sky > Ampeg SCR-DI > FOH

Powering the board with a Strymon Ojai that is under the board. It's very small but it's very effective.

The octave generator is for when the Tanks go marching in. O when the Tanks...go marching in. Love the Mobius for adding a touch of modulation. I especially dig the envelope filter for Hillsong Y & F tunes or even R&B Gospel songs. The phaser was a nice surprise along with the Vibe. I haven't really found a use for the tremolo yet, still looking for opportunities. Autoswell is killer for slower tunes.

I dig adding a touch of verb as well. The Cloud setting is far out and the presets are right on. The Big Sky gives a great depth and warmth to the tone in my opinion.

Lastly, I am going through the Ampeg monster which sounds awesome with the Thunderbird and Rickenbacker. The Geddy sounds pretty good too. You can engage the Scrambler section to add a little grit to the tone.

I still could make room for another pedal if I find something. I have been considering a TC Flashback delay. Are those any count? Maybe a booster or compression?

I'm having fun with the board but I usually don't have anything on save for the Ampeg which is on all the time. Still learning and trying to be judicious in my choices. So far no dirty looks from the WL.

I have really enjoyed messing with my new OCSD that I picked up this week.

With the OCSD, I will send my Aviom feed to the Aux In (via my Tasty Blender to add limiters) and then plug my IEMs into the Heaphone out of the OCSD. That way I will always be able to hear myself play (no amps allowed on stage). I have simulated this with a mixer at home and it works well. That should solve the issues of FoH gain changes between sets without warning or further sound checks. I look forward to trying it out at church.

I talked to a sound tech at church today and asked if the send phantom power to all the DIs and they do. (The board sends phantom power to all channels and they need it on for the condenser mics). Last I read, phantom power will damage an OCSD, so instead of using the XLR out at church, I will use the 1/4 inch out and go into one of the church's DI boxes that can handle phantom power.

Here is a link to my post with some of the settings I like so far and other things I found while using this pedal. NPD DSM Noisemaker OmniCabSim

peeps who use a b3k for light OD in church contexts: what settings do you rock?
I just got one and haven't found something I love.
Play a MIM Geddy Lee into an mb500 and dr bass drb115

Don't know if this is helpful but here are my B7K Ultra settings from this morning. Attack is "cut," Grunt is "boost." Frequency switches at original B7K values (low mid is 1k and high mid is 3k). OD might be a little strong but I like this EQ and I turn the distortion on and off to taste. I play a maple neck Stingray 5 with EB Slinkys into my board with this at the end, DI straight to the house.

And we pick on Ziltoid's dust collection.

It was situational, and I haven't found a basic starting setting. I mostly used it with other pedals to cop a synth bass sound.

The current setup -

ST-300 mini Turbo Tuner>Keeley Bassist>Malekko Diabolik>MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe>Mesa Subway DI

The board is a small VooDoo Labs Dingbat. Power is an Accel Audio FX Power Source 8 (I swapped this out from a larger AA board that I currently don't use). I take a post-eq DI out from the Mesa to the FOH and the Thru output goes to my amp (Mesa D800 or GK700rb-II) which powers the Eich Bass Board and/or a speaker cab.

Oh and can't forget the Barefoot Buttons!

Interesting. How do you work in the Diabolik?
