BDDI DI out to the Rolls XLR in and then pass the signal from the Rolls XLR out to the FOH. Take your Aviom line and run it to the Rolls Monitor in. Headphone out to your ears. That's with the PM50se and it works great! Just turn the bass channel down to 0 on your Aviom and then you'll no longer have it in the monitor mix.

That’s what I was thinking but wasn’t sure if running thorough the rolls affected anything to foh. Thank you.

Duh, I totally forgot about your thread! Thanks for taking the time to do those. It sure sounds good to me! All those DIs are really great on their own rights. I sometimes wonder if I'd be better off with a REDDI than a Noble, because your clips were a good reminder how deep the EQ gets. I have a more-is-more tendency with those sort of things and with a REDDI I wouldn't have that option to go overboard! I love to set it so the low end is really pumping, and that slams the tubes, then you use the low cut which is after the tubes. And that box just loves a hot signal which is one of the reasons I think I dig compression. Feed it a rich signal and it just blossoms.

I debated both of those. The REDDI sounds SO good.

It only affects the FOH if you make a change on the BDDI, but that’s kind of the point of using a DI with a preamp in it. They will get exactly what you are hearing in your ears. The biggest difference is that they will be able to do whatever they want to it on their end and you’ll still be hearing that pure, unaltered tone on yours. I went the Rolls route immediately after I encountered a similar problem where the gain was altered during a song and I lost the bass in my mix. Never again!

We have control over our mix via our iPhones so the mix ix in our hands...unless there's a gain change, but usually that is taken care of during sound check.

It’s the gain change where the problem lies. I’ve heard from our other bassists who use the Avioms that it’s happened to them as well. We had another setup with iPads for everyone, but even that was susceptible to a board gain adjustment. Sometimes I think it might even be an overuse of a compressor on their end, even though I’m already sending them a compressed signal. Oh well...Rolls is in the mix and it hasn’t ever been a problem again from that point on.

If I don’t have a preamp di on my board, will the Rolls be garbage?

How is a "worship band" pedal board any different from a normal pedal board?
When I play for my church band, I don't have a collection of pedals specifically for worship. If you normally use an effect and it fits then use it. There is no right or wrong pedal for worship.
These "which -insert equipment here- for worship?", threads are becoming just as numerous as the "best for metal" threads.
Play any bass, amp and effect you want, God doesn't care, if you're heart's right that's all that matters. Right?

If I'm understanding you correctly, you are moving from an amplified rig to all IEM's? For using a Rolls PM50se you'll want something with an XLR out at the end of your chain. It can be a preamp with a DI or as simple as a direct box of your choosing. You can also take it from the DI out on your SVT-III Pro. Point is, the Rolls needs a signal via XLR for your main source (your bass signal) that gets passed to the board. The monitor in is a 1/4" TS or TRS, but that does not pass through except to your ears.

I only had the chance to use it at that rehearsal. A member of the WT developed symptoms, and later tested positive. Our WT did not play Sunday out of caution. It was very impressive! I don't use a hard compression, so I never pushed it, but I was super impressed with the pedal. It is big and it is heavy, but it really did the job. If I ever decided to go minimalist, like my friend Steve, this would be in serious contention. I don't bond well with the menu driven stuff I 've tried. Give me knobs! Something I can understand without reading an online manual. I do look forward to the opportunity to use it further down the road.

Agreed.. I'm not a fan of menus, and online tweaking. Give me knobs to twist and my ears for listening, and I'm good.
And you're right, as a minimalist approach, this and a tuner would be perfect

Yeah, I’ve pretty much eliminated any knob turning. Volume on the Rolls and Level on the REDDI. Neither of those change much. I suppose I can’t really post here any more.

I suppose if I did wireless IEM’s again and a clip on tuner I’d just have the REDDI. But then that sweet cable Dave made would go to waste so...

I figured out how to use a delay. During the ambient stuff I played the octave-reverb-delay up high on the neck. It was great.

I did go over the lights with a marker to reduce the glare but it’s still pretty bright

Again, not really a pedalboard thing, but it is a synth bass thing. I think I’m leaning to a 37 mini key synth. It’s easier to move around. I’ve been playing mini keys and the “sacrifice” is worth it for potability and cost. The Roland JD-Xi is pretty highly regarded as a decent synth. So that’s where my “synth bass effects” will probably be coming from.

I figured the cali compressor would be great, but I was incredibly impressed with the vintage microtubes. I’m still pretty new to bass and my only experience with bass overdrive is the drive on a Verellen Meatflip (think I’ve got that name right) which I LOVE, but wasn’t sure if I’d be able to achieve a similar effect going direct into the reddi with a pedal. I don’t know how close it is to that specific Verellen drive, but it definitely accomplished task and got me what I was wanting. That’s a dang good pedal.
