Thank you! And yep! Just the lil guy. Being that I don't get to play bass much at church (usually stuck on guitar duty) this will mostly be used with a band where I play a P w/flats, so i'm super curious how these suckers will do in that context!

I probably use my VMT more than any other pedal on my board. Usually by itself it is already awesome, but sometimes I combine with others as well.
This past week we did the old Our God Chris Tomlin version. We don't have a keys player currently so they asked me to run the little intro by myself and start the song solo on bass. I put on the VMT running into my MicroSynth and got a really cool sound and played it up high on the D and G string, then came out of that straight into the verse with the drums coming in, then at the chorus I killed the MicroSynth. Was seriously great sounding and I got a lot of comments from the congregation about how much they liked it.
The band liked it so much during run-through that they asked me to start the Forever song next with the drums coming in after a measure of me just laying down a dum dum dum thing.
I've been through quite a few pedals, but I have always come back to a compression pedal...and my fav has always been the Cali-76...I'm on the 2nd one, now!
In the past, I always wanted the Darkglass Vintage Microtube...it never landed into fitting in our settings. Later in the game, I found my favorite "grit" sounds in the Mesa Flux-Five...loved that pedal.
I miss the Mesa, but I currently don't need extra distortion. My Alien Audio bass, comes with a custom pre-amp that has distortion, and it was designed by the designer of the SWR Mo-bass preamp....truly my fav now!
I love building pedalboards, and I'm currently working on one...but not finished. Here's a few pics of my current "get-by", a pic of the current build, and a few pics of one of the older boards...with the Mesa Flux-Five....
Using this of late. Home made Nano sized board. Sounds great in my 1964 Ears Qis! Mainly running my Fender 71 P thru it but I think next time I will use my Fender Reggie Hamilton CS PJ5. There is no substitute for TOOBS!
Super sweet pb! I really prefer 4 pedal-ish small boards... I'm actually not that familiar with Sushi Box pedals. How are you using the PA—thickener only, or break up?

The LA-1A has a boost - Does that count as a fourth?!
Signal chain is actually Tuner/Comp/PA/DI but I had to put them like this to fit them.
Using the PA as thickner/ EQ. It does get a little woolier with higher gain but not really break up to speak of. It has so much output if you want it. I can drive my Bergantino IP310 easily with it and it sounds great.
I love the VMT too! I've been through at least a half dozen other drivers but keep coming back to the VMT. I used to use it always on but lately I'm going more aggressive and switching it on when that's appropriate.

I'm in the Darkglass VMT(D) club, too. I'm using it on a Nano+ with a Morningstar MC6 and a HX Stomp - it sounds amazing. I use the VMTD to add some mild dirt and love the way it adds to the tone - I could get way more but being able to switch that great sound in and out is well worth it for me. I'm running the Limited Edition VMTD from several years ago and having the DI on it really helps.
We are all doing IEM's so there are a bunch of variations on pedalboards between the guitarists and bassists - including 3 by Line 6 (Stomp, LT and Helix) and a couple more boards with the Eventide H9.

Thanks man. I love it. If I was down to 1 bass, I think this would be it.
So another little thing today. My TU-2 mutes and tubes but when I unmute it the light still lights so I'm not REALLY sure if I'm muted. Guess it's time for a new tuner. I suppose a TU-3 will fit the hole in my case.
It's an opportunity to now go with a full size (9v battery option) Sonic Research ST-300... @ExaltBass got me addicted to their accuracy!
2-3/8" x 4-3/8" footprint...My only requirement is that it fits the hole!
