That's a great idea! I having (mis)using my empress comp at the end of the chain at home to adjust levels between presets because I didn't know this existed.
I've always liked my Humphrey modded Bass Smasher Boss pedal. I put it back on... and took off the Boss TU-3. I'm putting the TU-3 back on when I change out my Sennheiser Instrument Wireless tuner pedal. I'm updating it and my MiPro IEM wireless with Sennheiser EW UHF wireless gear... just waiting on my sales rep for the price quote.
From yesterday; MXR comp > DCX Bass > ME Super 300 > Studio One are all always on.

Oh my. That VUMP looks like an incredibly useful tool. A great solution to a problem I've been having since switching to Stomp. Leveling presets. It's hard to know if something is actually louder, or if my ears are tricking me. What a great tool this could be. I've reached out to him. Thanks for sharing!
He has a more affordable option that is digital. I geek out on the analog meter though, so I pony'ed up for the more expensive one. And I got the one that will work on either 1/4 or XLR passthrough.

Yeah, that was what I asked in my email to him. Which version he recommended. I don't really care so much about the analog meter, though it does look cool. The LCD version would probably be easier for my middle-aged eyes to read on the stage anyway. But he's out of stock for a bit.
Yeah, I think he is pretty busy with other things and builds them when he has time. From the time I first contacted him, until he had one ready to ship was about 8 months.
I did a lot of searching about a year ago for such a device and the VUMP checked all my boxes. If you are interested in DIY, here are some options:

There are some pedals that are built for other things that have built in VU meters. Like this Geezer Buttler "Pedal of Doom." Not sure if this actually shows what we are looking for though?

Yeah, the VUMP certainly seems the easiest, most straightforward solution. I wish I was a DIY'er, but I can't solder. Might be time to learn.

One of my all time favorite pedals. I tried the OE BassRig Super Vintage but I went back to the ME Super 300 for my SVT clone tones.
I also really like the ME Super 800. All of @Sensei Tim 's preamps that I have tried are fantastic. Always on and they're just awesome tone sweeteners.
Yeah, I love my Super 800 Plus (the Super 800 was developed at the request of a fellow TBer!) If I got a second preamp for some reason, the 300 would most likely be it. And Tim is great to work with.
Yes! Tomorrow morning I'll be running my Spector Bantam 5 > tuner > Emprrss Bass Compressor > Empress Para Deluxe EQ > Noble DI. Nice and simple!
After years of only sometimes playing through an amp simulator on my Zoom B2 we were joined by a gear head guitarist. As he buys a lot of stuff to try he passed a Donner Harmonic Square to me which I tried for the first time last Sunday. So now while trying to figure out how that will work here he comes again with a Flamma FC13 Phaser. It is almost like a pusherman giving me a free taste. 
Looking at this makes me think we'd enjoy some synth fun together. I need to post my board later!
