Worship Bass Pedalboards

here's my board! It's usually just a three piece and I play ambient fills between songs for liturgy.
I try to sneak the C4 and microcosm into everything I can.

Uf-dah. You all have some nice boards. Beats my little Stomp.
Does it though? For sure most are more expensive and bigger.
Let's make sure the point of this thread is not make you feel bad about your choice. When I played EG with a nano+ board with a Stomp, the other EG in rotation had a gigantic board full of boutique pedals. He was super jealous of how consistent, reliable and easy to use my gear was. Now he has a Helix.

I completely agree with this. There are lots of Sundays where the best and most appropriate thing would just be a compressor and maybe a mild OD. I keep hearing about all the things others are doing w/ a Helix and it makes me reconsider lugging this monster everywhere.

I'm totally happy with my Stomp for church and cover band. The difference in sound is pretty minimal really, unless you really listen and do side by side comparisons and all that. Even side by side no one really noticed between my REDDI and my Stomp. The small trade offs are worth it for the convenience I think. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself.

For church we went Stomp for convenience if we ever have multiple players. Simple for a sub to use.

For my personal self, I guess if I was just looking for one solid bass tone, I'd maybe go tube/analog. The best bass tone I've had without question was Empress Para EQ Deluxe to Empress Bass Compressor to REDDI. I'd put that rig against anything.

I decided that I wanted to have/try some options and effects for the cover band gigs. The Stomp was the most practical way to go for cost and size. I could have just gone to a big board but I didn't want that.

Overall I'm pretty happy and everyone seems to like my sounds - both bass and synth - so I'm really trying to stick with it and not GAS for a cool board and tube DI that would cost 4-5 times as much as my current set up.

Not to mention how easy and quick my load in/out is. And all on a Nano board.

I'm still learning about pedals. What does the DCX do for your sound in the context of worship? I've seen that pedal on a lot of boards in this thread.

I really enjoyed the DCX bass. I used it as an always on preamp that would give slight break up when I would dig in. I sold it and the cali76 to find the hx stomp.

if for whatever reason it doesn't work for me, I'll likely end up with those 2 again. Or just got back to my sansamp :roflmao:

The HX Stomp has a billion ways to do edge of breakup fantastically. Amps set for breakup, overdrives, crossover distortion, etc. my favorites are running an SVT4 into an SVTnrm, and setting it to grind. You can tweak the parameters via snapshots to add more gain, or engage things like a Timmy overdrive or the retro real for a little saturation. It all sounds so good.

Welp, the USB-B port on my HXS is broken. L&M said it'll cost about $150 to send it off to a Line 6 authorized tech and for them to repair. I can't imagine a simple USB-B port will cost $150 to replace, honestly. I may take it to an actual legitimate electronics repair shop and see their quote but I might just end up selling it at a super low cost and use those funds to get individual pedals....

Does anyone know where to maybe get a USB-B port for devices like the HXS? Perhapppssss if I send in the device and the port, my cost may be less if the shop doesn't need to order the part for me (wishful thinking).
