Have you got a drive preset even remotely close on the stomp that resembles the DCX? I'm not a fan of the stomps drives and distortions.

Let me introduce you to the Barefoot Buttons V1 Tallboy Mini:

This might allow you to reallocate that DMC button to an alternate function.
I could not find anything on the Stomp that does the DCX eq/drive mode. I tried dialing the Regal thing and it falls short IMHO, especially on the lovely organic stuff going on in the DCX. I did get the Mesa M9 amp to sound DCX'ish with contour setting #2, as I recall. Others will chime in, but I tended toward the Red Llama model for stomp overdrive.
Can you just adjust the faders so it runs at unity gain? There is a gain trim pot inside the unit, as well. Mine was set from the factory at a good level for my fender passive basses. Is yours too loud? Too soft?
The teemah! block is the closest I think you'll get and it's the best bass drive on the stomp imo. I prefer it in path B split. The next best drive is using the SVT bright amp block just for the drive. I do that on path B as well.
Just today I was messing around with combing an svt bright into 8x10 sim for drive in parallel with regal di block for clean. Sounds pretty good.
I've had all three. Didn't bond with the DCX and returned it. Used the MBD2 for years and love it for a scooped OD. The CAPO is the best thing I've come across in years. You can adjust the A side to be very MBD2-ish, if desired. It's an excellent OD pedal.

Even though it's not currently on my board, I have no intentions of getting rid of my MBD2
I've got 2 MBD-1's and an MBD-3 along with the MBD2.
But that Capo sounds interesting!

I'm brand new to playing with others and have only played two weekends at my church. Me and the sound guy were trying to figure out why my bass (Yamaha BB734a) was so quiet. Well, I was trying to use it in passive and the DI box was passive; neither of us knew that it mattered at all. Next time I brought a BDI21 and it sort of worked. I tried it DI into the pedal and it seemed to work but it wasn't very high output. Would it make more sense to get an active DI box or to invest in a different DI pedal?
I had the bb735a. At the time, I played it active and ran it through a passive radial DI, but that's also before a bunch of pedals, too. I would start looking at preamp/di if you want to keep playing a passive bass.
It can be both active or passive; I switched it to active mode and it still seemed quiet to me. I was really thinking about picking up the NEVE DI. I tried the Joyo Tidal Wave but it sounded essentially the same as my BDI21 but with a little different characteristic that i didnt quiet like. It was like at least three times louder by default though. I am wondering if my BDI 21 is defective because its so quiet in DI. I'm open to any ideas for a clean/tube DI
Hmm. Depends on whether you intend to utilize it's routing options & dual DI's.
Without diving into routing specifics, et cetera, I'd recommend running it as your Clean/Edge of Breakup & Drive tones. Tuner and Octave before it, fuzz, filter, HX Stomp, and Oracle after it.
Use the HX Stomp for time based/modulation effects & Cab Sim.
All that can be done with or without using the pre/post loops & DIs.
