Speaking of bringing the low end boom…me and my gear sit right in front of our piano player. Occasionally I'll kick on the octaver on my Stomp and bring some rumble. One day she comes up to me after the service and says "hey umm I'm not sure what low notes you're playing but the inside of my head rattles and everything just shakes. Feels like my teeth are coming loose" I just grinned and said I'll play a little higher on the neck for ya lol
The Moog was a great purchase this year. I used it a lot more than I thought.
As far as pedals, the best purchase would probably be the Grand Tarkin fuzz. It has a few little quirks, but I'm willing for deal with them. It's big and I'm not a fan of dual foot switches on a pedal, but it just sounds so good. The smaller version is probably in the opposite direction—too small and side jacks. So, either way, it's not my favorite format. All the Cog pedals sound amazing though. I put some tall Barefoot buttons on them so I can stomp on them easily.
If I don't go with a Stomp, I may do a bunch of Cog pedals…octave, fuzz and overdrive…which is what I'd program into the Stomp anyway.

My messenger v1.2 isn't outputting any sound. Lights come on but no sound output. Has anyone here ever had that issue?
That being said I'm looking to pick up a second preamp pedal just incase this ever happens again. I was looking at the tone hammer(v1 or v2) sushi box Venus z, and Nordstrand Starlifter. Need some input! Only other pedals I currently use are a tuner and cali76

On your board, have you thought about recreating Bryce Vaughn's board? Just for fun..... I'm pretty sure you have all the components: Cali76, Noble, Stomp, DCX, Kilt fuzz, and an octaver. His tones are pretty amazing.
That's a good idea. I'm all over the place with my boards and I never know what's going to go to the sanctuary until a few days before we play.
I'll have to check out some of his videos.
I'd probably vote for the Tone Hammer. I've swapped a few different preamps in and out but one thing I really appreciate about the Tone Hammer is how easy it is to push mids in the way I like to. I personally run most of my settings at noon, AGS always on. It's reliable and proven across more than just worship too.
I've swapped several other preamps out on our worship crew and all have always had good praise, but I also typically ran a Broughton Messenger Jr. With them to help tweak stuff further. Side note 2025 I really want to try the Freer Capo the cost for entry is just pretty steep and it has alot going on haha.
Another suggestion would maybe be the Sushi Box Underground Accelerator? But with that tonestack you would again be limited to only being able to cut mids with the mid knob.

To add to this, the Messenger has an internal dip switch where you can either have off be mute or EQ bypass (LF/HF still engaged).
If I remember right, Red is mute/EQ bypassed, Blue is engaged.
I mean I've never opened it up. One day it was working the next day it wasn't.
Well that's weird, for sake of completeness maybe try a different power supply?
I haven't personally A/b'd V1 versus V2. From my understanding they pretty much sound identical. V1 one has perks of better build, and can be powered with phantom power. If you can find a V1 that's the route I'd go. I've almost considered buying a second as backup haha.

IMO V1. I have a V1. Bought a V2 and returned it two days later. The V1 build is rock solid and can be powered with batteries or phantom power. The V2 aux-in/headphones is mono so that was not useful for me.
I had a similar story once although mine was kinda an accident. I had been messing with my pedalboard at home and turned my AGS off on the TH. Went to rehearsal did sound check and somehow missed that it wasn't on. I clicked it on right as our worship leader fired the first song. The first few notes from the DB jump definitely rumbled the stage, they quickly bumped me back down. Our keyboard player looked over after the song and said "I thought I was gonna vibrate off the stage!"
Picked up a Lucydreamer bass drive over Christmas, hoping it could replace my Walrus Ages for something more bass-specific.
There are things I like about it: soft switches, dual gain stages, a wet-additive blend with fixed dry, and a gain control that auto-levels the output.
But the dynamic response is basically nonexistent, and at higher gain, it veers into that Darkglass-y territory. Also they put the jacks in the worst possible place.
As a super low-gain, always-on drive It's ok.
