I use a VT Bass deluxe, and tried the SVT setting, and it is really quite scooped with glassy highs. Whichever of the suggested settings you try, use them as a starting point, not a rigid setting that can't be changed If the highs are too much, turn them down etc. If I recall there was a tube setting? I liked that as a starting point. I found that I liked to find what I wanted with the drive around 9 o'clock, eq flat, and then move the character knob around till I found a good starting point then eq to taste. Remember, those suggested settings, might have a p Bass in mind, you could be playing an active Bass with lots of tops. Even an SVT has an eq on it so you can dial in your tone.
