I was going to skip the Luce because I'm happy with the Noble. But, it's been a while since I tried other preamps/DIs, so I was about due.
I figured, worst case, I could sell it pretty quickly on TB and not lose too much on it.I've seriously slowed down on buying/selling pedals, but this one just got me. I'm glad it did. Because it's a nice little DI.
The Luce doesn't have a characteristic tone like the Noble. So, I've been seeing how much I can rely on my other pedals to tailor the tone...and if that is preferable. I like the built in tone of the Noble, but I'm having fun trying different things. It's too early to tell.
Of course, the obligatory will it translate live? Well, I'm hoping to find out. And I'm mostly concerned about how it sounds in the in ears. I'm not too worried about every nuance reaching the sanctuary.
The way I see it, there are 3 options...
The Noble is better. Then I'll use the Noble.
The Luce is better. Then I'll use the Luce.
There is no audible difference. Then I'll build a small board around the Luce and keep the bigger board with the Noble. When I need more effects, I'll bring the big board.
I don't know if this will help you, but I have the Octamizer and OC-2. Used to have issues with tracking, but by changing a few things, it is much, much better. This advice should work on all analog octavers.
1. Compressor before the octavers for a consistent dynamics that make it easier to track
2. Neck pick-up only, no bridge
2. Play directly over the neck pickup
3. Generally never go below the lowest B on an E string (A and G# will come through, but things can get sketchy)
4. Use fretwraps to reduce noise if you struggle with keeping strings quiet
5. Play from the E on the A string and up. I feel like it tracks better the closer the note is to the pickup
Now, I have little issues with the Octamizer. I love the sound of it with the clean signal. I use the OC-2 for sub only, and have to take a few more steps to make it behave
Just sent it back this morning. Thank you, though! I had tried some of those but not all. 2 & 2 were non-starters, though; I mainly use the neck pickup, and my main bass has only that.

I’ve read conflicting opinions on whether compressors should be before or after synths and octavers.
I had mine before and moved it to after. But happy for more opinions on this.
If i run one before its with heavy compression, low threshold, slow release for a constant note to the octaves for long sustain.
If i am running one after its peak reduction.
I have a comp before and after (at the end of the chain)!
I had that setup but ran out of board space... might try to wrangle it to fit somehow maybe...
I've had the comp at the beginning for a few months. Then at the end for a few months. Now, it's off the board. I realized that I was setting it up to be so subtle that the only thing more subtle would be not to have it at all. So, it's gone. I didn't notice much difference with the octave. But, I use octave almost exclusively as a synth tone and usually stay a bit higher on the neck.
My experiment with the Luce is still on going. I'm not sure if it will make it to next service. I love trying out new gear, and new combos, but it can be a bit distracting. I'm going to try it with the DCX tonight and then put it away for a while. I'll pull it out when I have some time off from playing.

I keep the comp at the beginning. At the end, it amplifies the cumulative noise from other pedals.
The DCX into the Luce is really nice. There's a lot to like about it. Ideally, two DCXs would be better. One for EQ, one for OD!!
But, I'm thinking that I will put this aside for later. After this coming service, the next time I am on, we are doing an original song that we're probably going to record, so I figure I'll bring the Noble for that one since I know it so well.

Have you seen this video @Switcharoo posted elsewhere? The secret DI, that ahem opened up like a beautiful Micro Orchid flower, with the DCX, sounded awesome IMO
