No shame in that! If you have access to Multi Tracks, you'll start listening to the sub bass tracks for ideas. There is sub bass on many of the songs we all play, it's everywhere.

We both used our Messenger's for the first time today...
Sound guys and WL loved it today. I used it on a song (Forever YHWH) where I switched to bass... but held the 'E' on the Moog with the sustain pedal... while picking on the higher 'E' through my Subsonic pedal over driven. At the end of the song I switched back to the Moog. It felt great... and I felt comfortable playing it, but I really need to get more familiar with the Messenger. I'm sure it could have sounded a lot better if I had more time to play around with it and understand it more.
We went Stomp at our church and it sounds good…but all we really need is a good DI - and a tuner/mute pedal.I was leading today but the bass player forgot his board so he just plugged directly into a RNDI and it sounded fantastic. Punchy and clear. I was happy and sad about this all at same time
On a side note, @projectapollo has inspired me to look for a Lightspeed.

I took a peek at next weeks setlist, and we are doing "Jesus Be the Name" for the first time for me. I really like the song. The WL hasn't purchased the MultiTracks for it yet, but uploaded the bass track. I prefer using the "Playback" app to play Multitracks songs interfaced with my X32... but I practiced with uploaded bass track to get familiar with the song. I think I play the song better on Bass... but dang... it sounds so good playing on the Messenger. If I use the Messenger, I'm going with Bank 2 Preset 8. I like holding the sustain pedal on the slow parts to blend the notes together, then toggle the "MULTI-TRIG" button to trigger the notes when I press the keys to sync with the drums. I'll run through the songs this week on both instruments to see which I prefer... but leaning Messenger after playing through the song tonight.

It really is the closest that I've gotten to finding the "just right" OD. I'd love some top jacks, but I'll make do.

I used the Moog on You Keep Your Promises and the CeCe version of Goodness of God yesterday.

The enablers that tempted me to buy Moog Messenger, and the synth talk got me to enjoy playing through the setlist during the week again. Lately, I've only run through the songs the day before/of before rehearsals or sound check run throughs. Running through this weekends setlist, I have ideas to incorporate the Moog Messenger with 2 songs.
I've thought about using a delay pedal and making a dedicated pedalboard, but I'm having fun with just the sustain pedal to hold notes forever, while playing my bass on top. Been having fun... but now I've been lacking on the gym and my bike rides. Woke up at 5:30 am this morning to get back into my workout habit.
Just get a heavier bass!
For those with an HX Stomp and Micro Synth, which of the following do you guys use and prefer?

On my last update on my pedalboard, I spent all night into the early AM... testing where my BMS would work best in the chain. My first choice was to put the BMS in the FX Loop in the stomp, so I have more control on percentage blend and volume... but it didn't sound good, and the tracking wasn't that great. I had to be doing something wrong, because Bryce Vaughn uses is BMS in the FX Loop and it sounds great on his vid. Where I got the best results was putting the BMS early in the chain. I have it after my Cali76, and it sounds nasty (in a good way), and tracks better. My 2nd gain stage (Kilt v2) is the FX Loop on the Stomp, and sounds great with the BMS as my 3rd gain stage for those big chorus moments.

I might be misunderstanding this but I assume you took the BMS out of the FX loop and added it like any other pedal after the Cali76?
Yup... I took it out of the FX Loop, and added it after the Cali76 early in the chain. I'm not sure if I missed a setup in the HX Stomp, but it didn't work out for me in the FX Loop. It tracked and sounded so much better early in the chain in my case.

To all the EHX Bass Microsynth users, technical question: @rcmbass and I have been discussing how Gemini AI tool gives amazing in-depth information and advice on bass pedals, etc. It is advising me to put the BMS first in chain, before the buffer/compressor. Do we think this is correct?
Gemini: The EHX Bass Micro Synth is highly sensitive to impedance. Putting it before a buffer often results in better tracking, as it "sees" the direct pickups of your bass rather than a processed signal.

Not an expert but I think this is off on a couple points.
It was not easy to find but the input impedance is 68k ohm which is low but what I'm reading is because the microsynth is not a transistor pedal it's an op amp signal processing pedal it's not affected by pickup impedance and buffers in the way transistor fuzz pedals are, however it needs a strong signal going into it to trigger the signal processing well.
So in theory a buffer before it would actually help push a stronger signal into it.
I think this is why some people have issues putting in fx loop in the hx stomp for example because default instrument level output for the fx loop is pretty low. It would help to increase fx send and reduce return to compensate.
When I was testing where to put the BMS in my chain... that late to early morning sleepless night... LOL... I tried it 1st in the chain, and after my Cali76. I didn't notice a difference, so I just put it after my compressor to simplify my right to left patch cable order (tuner > cali76 > BMS > etc...). I wish I could have put it in the FX Loop for at least volume control... but since playing it for a while, it was meant to go big on those strong chorus moments...
