Worst band name you have ever heard.

There was a band in Raleigh/Durham named The Prayers and Tears of Arthur Digby Sellers. It was inspired by all the ridiculous "The *somethings*" garage-rock bands of the 2000s and taken from "The Prayers and Tears of Jacques Derrida" and appended with a character from The Big Lebowski that has no lines and is only seen for a moment.

I knew of a band that had the name Topdaeh. It was inspired by heavy cannabis abuse. Luckily, the name changed after a few months of ridicule. An honorable mention is Tongue N' Groove. But my favorite bad band name is Hot Pocket Dingleberry Disease.

Carseat Headrest is not a great name, but I like the story about how it came about, and I love their (his?) music.

I love Prefab Sprout but now somebody mentioned it, yeah it's an odd name. Geographical term to describe the rapid building of prefabricated housing in the UK after the war apparently.

How about this - Joy Division (IMO just about the perfect band name) were nearly The Slaves Of Venus.

Certainly not worse than many (most) of the bands in the thread but the weirdly-placed exclamation point bands make my brain twitch.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Panic! At the Disco

It also pains me to add My Favorite Band Ever to the list of bad band names: Jethro Tull.
Ian Anderson was never too fond of it either, so at least I'm in good company.
Don't forget Captured! By Robots
