Worst band name you have ever heard.

The Dead Kennedys. Great punk, totally callous name.

Theres actually a meaning beyond the shock value of the name. Jello said that he saw a distinct change in America that started with the Kennedys being killed. They were making music about that new era and all of its problems, so it was fitting as the starting point of all that followed.

Great band...and the name was perfect. I saw them at the Channel in Boston, that place was huge and it was packed, Ann Magnuson and Mark Kramer (the only person I ever saw who played a fuzz violin Beatle bass Correctly.) Doing their big cover song on TV!

I used to play there with several different bands during the early 80's, a band I was in called The Fans was the headliner on a Tuesday night and we had maybe 13 people:laugh:.

I used to play with a drummer (of course) who was in a band called, ready? Mass Eruption!:roflmao: (Mass was the old abbreviation for Massachusetts), I laugh every time I think of it. Anytime I'm in a new band situation and we start tossing around names I pull it just to get a reaction and it gets plenty. Got any really bad band names that can rival that one? I shudder as I await your bad names.
We played two shows with this band “BPM” more than a decade ago. Once here in NC and ran into them again playing the same stage as us at Bayfest in Mobile Alabama. Ok not a terrible name but to me it was very misleading. Hearing the name I immediately thought speed metal/thrash or something like that. As in beats per minute. It was actually an abbreviation for “Bullet Proof Mushrooms”. They were a reggae/ska type band. They were actually pretty damn good from what I remember.

I'm sure this has been shared here countless times. Band Name Maker

That did not stop me from sharing it again.

I can't remember the exact timeline, but about 15 years ago, a friend of mine created a name generator as a joke, that converted your name to what it would be, were you inducted into the Wu-Tang Clan...

Literally nobody noticed that blog / website, and it got so little traffic he completely forgot about it.

Turns out actor / rapper Donald Glover stumbled across it recently, and became "Childish Gambino".
