Or something by Gretsch. I can see anything hollow, for that matter, feeding back like disgruntled customers.

Don't know what the worst bass for metal is, but I'm sure it could be improved by adding flats & a tort pickguard....

Kala fretless!!

I used one of these for a few songs at a gig last year and it sounded great. Seriously.

Not hardcore heavy metal, but Pearl Jam's Alive was one of the tunes I did with the Kala as an example.

P.S. One of my normal basses is still a better choice!

I vote the washtub bass as the least likely to succeed in a metal setting. Although it does have more metal on it than most basses I've played, so who knows.
