Like I said, it's a great song --- but the video?? Closeups of people stuffing their face? A clown eating a shoe? To me, that's a bad video.
Get over it.
There are people who get embarrassed.
There are people who don't.
I feel a lot better about the critiques of my videos after viewing this thread.
There are some truly awful videos on the thread, but there are some great ones.
Bottom line is, I'd rather 2,000 people tell me I'm lame, terrible, cringey, embarrassing or whatever words they have than to spend my life in the peanut gallery.

Yeah, especially considering that Gerry Rafferty sang that song, not the dweeb in the video lip syncing it.
OK, since I suspect I am the TB member who makes the cringe-inducing videos, I will play. I doubt any of you have seen my least favorite video. I made it back in 1995. I was NOT ready to have attention on me, and you can see it in almost every frame. I am sometimes looking over my shoulder as if to say, "oh God I hope no one saw me do that..."
That's right, I used to have such crippling stage fright that I might pass out, but I always had a desire. I shot this one in a major park, where thousands of people go every day in the summertime.
I wrote the song, and the lady was my girlfriend at the time, but other than that, it ain't nothing to be proud of.
It ain't nothing to be ashamed of, either. I was trying, and that's more than most internet critics ever do.

I know he did a version of the song, but that video is obviously not it. I'm fairly sure that is Joe Egan.
No mellow, it isn't Gerry in that vid. The band recorded that vid after Gerry left the band. If you do some youtubing, you can find vids of that band (playing other songs) that show both that dweeb *AND* Gerry in the vid, so that guy in this vid is not Gerry. It's Joe Egan. Below is a pic of both of them. Joe (with the beard) is on the left. Gerry (the taller guy) is on the right.

Ok, I think I have the best of the worst but it's the best. A little known Canadian band called Platinum Blonde. Check this out.
Mungo Jerry is one of those bands where I always thought it was the lead singers name (until about a year ago actually).
Just look at the video. Doesn't the guy (Ray Dorset) just look like a Mungo Jerry??
