Especially if it had a helicopter, shoulder pads, jackets with the sleeves pushed up, and the flippy hair thing.

that's like...EVERY iconic video though. That's like faulting Elvis songs for shoddy recording or Led Zeppelin for being shameless thieves of black music.

"The Wild Boys" - Duran Duran. I probably won't get a lot of agreement on this one, and I get the whole bleak, desolate, apocalyptic, "Mad Max" thing, but it just comes across as ugly to me. And I still find that animatronic head really creepy:

yeah...strong DISagreement here. Not only was this a "video only" song...it was directed by Russell "Highlander" Mulcahy...AKA the guy who single-handedly invented the music video (with, among other things, "Video Killed the Radio Star"). DD agreed to write this iconic song and appear the in video so that Russell could raise money for a "Wild Boys" film based on the (batsh*t insane) novel by William Burroughs. AND, Simon Le Bon almost drowned during the filming.

It's amazing in it's own right...but for all the above...it's one of the greatest vids of all time.

Honestly, it would be a shorter list for videos that do not suck. I am having a hard time thinking of very many good videos...

Also, I kind of liked the whole “Waiting for Godot” quality of many of the videos listed here. The *** were they on when they made this video feeling...

And I actually like this period of Rush... and this song.
