Worst pedal you ever bought!

I haven't tried many pedals. But from what i have tried the worst got to be Ashdown James Lomenzo Hyperdrive. You can see my signature that i use ODB-3 and El Grande Fuzz. I like the El Grande but I have ordered better Booster/OD pedal from a builder here in Finland. Maybe I do a thread about it with soundclips

I like the Bass Compactor

Less for the compression and more for the EQ. Of course i realise this will get me hounded out of any serious discussion about compression on TB...

Boss RV-3 and EHX Stereo Electric Mistress. Both sounded totally cold and lifeless with my set-up.

I LOVED my RV-3. Only sold it due to desperate times, wish i'd hung on to it.

Got a Behringer RV600 recently for non-bass applications. It doesn't suck completely, but it's not going within a 500 yard radius of my bass setup, is all i'll say...

boos odb3 it sucks cant get a good distortion or overdrive and it buzzes so loud its not even worth trying to use. way to noisy and it losses a lot of bass and does not have a good tone at all!! does anybody have a good overdrive or fuzz that they like?

For me: the B3K. Loud pop when turning it on, lots of noise, really bad tonal match for my goals. Maybe the one I had was just an early bad prototype, but it was such a bad pedal for use with a Ric and a Mesa 400+. Could easily see it being better elsewhere, but not for me.

Did your also have a slow "whirly" sound to it?

My least favorite pedal purchases are the Boss CS-3 Compression/Sustainer and the DOD FX-58 Metal Maniac.

I'm currently in compressor hell with a CS-3. I stupidly sold my Keeley. Thinking of grabbing a byoc kit.

Of all the effects I've tried out, I would say the worst effects I ever tried out would be the distortion channels on the rocktron utopia b100. the distortion channels were rough and metallic sounding. even though I do like the modulation effects on the rocktron utopia b100, the distortion channels is just not to my liking. I did try using a separate distortion pedal to the rocktron utopia b100, but it didn't exactly sounded that good. because of my dislike of the distortion channels, I ended up selling the rocktron utopia b100 on craig's list. personally, I choose the digitech bp355 over the rocktron utopia b100 anyday. from my perspective, the digitech bp355 has better sounding distortion channels, amp and cab models. and the modulation effects are pretty good too. not to mention that the digitech bp355 has a large variety of effects, amp and cab models unlike the rocktron utopia b100(which has a limited selection of effects). also it works well on guitar as well as bass(considering that the bp355 has a lot of guitar effects, amp and cab models). I would choose the digitech bp355 for bass and guitar.

It wasn't a bad pedal and it did everything it said it would. But for my tonal goals I just loathed it. Flipped in less than two weeks fortunately.

I'm with you on that one. Pretty much the same experience.

I haven't owned many pedals, but the most useless one has been a DOD FX25B. Nice effect, but the crazy spikes, overall dip in volume when activated and no true bypass, was too much to work with

that would be my 2nd worst pedal ever.

Everything you say is true, but it does have a very liquid envelope movement. I use mine now as a LP filter and it works pretty well like that, with sensitivity all the way off and the sweep about 1/2 way up, there is a resonance boost that helps the dub come through.

My worst pedal has to be the Bad Monkey. I thought it was ok at first, but just such a dynamics-killing pedal, totally squishy and no touch sensitivity. Not what I want in an OD!

Mark bass super synth. It was a totally unnecessary buy as I have no use for a synth in the bands I play in. Used it on the odd occasion at home. Tried to get used to the software but didn't have the time to be fine tuning it, sold it on within 6months.

EQD Organizer. I can't think of any reason you'd want an inconsistent wobble from the lag that changes from note to note for more than 17 seconds in any song of any genre, unless you don't mind that those 17 seconds will sound horrible even with the intended effect irritating the piss out of you with a low quality out of tune poo sound.
