I am definitely in the rush delivery camp. Provided its actually shipped i do like to minimize the time its on a truck or plane.Scenario: You have a nice bass coming from across the country. It’ll take a week to get to you. But for $60 more, you could have it tomorrow. To you, is it worth the extra $$ to have it the next day?
This scenario played out for me yesterday. The seller and I worked out a deal where I provided the UPS label thru my company. I could print a Ground label, but for $30 more I could do 2-day. Or for $60 more, I could have it the next day. I chose next day so I’d have all weekend to play with my new bass (and the bass wouldn’t sit in a cold tractor trailer all weekend).
Would you do that?
Nope, nope, nope! Not since COVID screwed everything up. I deal with this on a weekly basis, & my wife deals with it daily.

When I built my first one I was totally inexperienced and spent months watching Youtube learning how to and how not to and wondering if I could pull it off. It was quite nerve wracking at times but I did it. I was determined not to cut anything until I was quite sure of the methods and techniques I would use. The second one only took three weeks from start to finish. Patience is vital when working with wood. Both turned out well and get plenty of playing time. It’s a gratifying experience to make something that has quality and style and performs well.I build my own basses. The lead time to make the parts is 6 weeks, the build time after I get parts is a few weeks (mostly finishing). A few days one way or another doesn't make a hill of beans difference in my world, as I'm used to the fact that I can't have what I really want right now..
