Just in case there was any confusion, anyone who doesn't think Prince is an extraordinary musician hasn't had enough exposure to him or his playing. Dude is a *monster* on both guitar and bass, and many other instruments, as well. 
For what it's worth, I like the look of these basses a lot more than I like the look of Foderas, and people seem plenty willing to drop $6k on those. I've only played a few Foderas and they sounded very good and played well, but I wouldn't buy one for their looks. I'm not trying to turn this into an "ugly bass" thread, but frankly, I agree with the '50s hot-rod car statement: The red one above is killer, and the black one (on the left) is very posh, just IMO.

Anyone who realises that Prince does not know what he's doing must equally be such an expert in guitar materials and workmanship that they could never be wrong
