Ding

 

No contest.
I've had a broken toe and that was no fun.
Basses are just tools of the trade. A ding or two, or ten wouldn't bother me one bit.

 

Ding for sure. I have a lot more care and concern about my body than any material object.
Remember, "I'd give my right arm to have XXX....." is just a saying not an instruction manual.

 

I just put a nice big ding in the horn of my baritone sax - I'd trade a minor flesh wound to have that not have happened, but no, not a broken toe, they hurt like a MFer.

 

Here's a question...would you trade your big toe for a new bass? Or a foot?

I'm selfish. I would rather you suffer a broken toe than my instrument get dinged.

 

My most prized and pristine instrument already has a few dings. So... problem solved and I hadn’t even had to see a doctor about it.

 

i'd rather have a sharp stick in the eye.

 

My numero uno is a factory relic with my least favorite finish, so... easy choice.

 

A ding. I think most dings look pretty cool. They show that an instrument has been played.
