Would you rather...

Which would you rather have happen?

  • Have an unrepairable ding to your most prized and pristine instrument.

  • Suffer a broken toe.

I'd take the dinged bass. All of my basses are dinged anyways. I'd rather not have to deal with a broken toe.

I kinda buy all of my cars and basses used, so that even though there's a honeymoon period - I'm not afraid of the inevitability of the thing getting dinged.

rather have a dinged instrument than a dinged dong.
Mmmmmm.....

I once stubbed my toe on some stairs and broke it, I fell and dinged my bass.

Luckily both of us survived to gig another day so it's all good... I guess you could say we both have the battle scars that come with a lifetime of working together.

Gigged basses, ones that are truly working basses, get dings, dents, wear, and...and.... That's just how it goes. They are tools. I try to keep my basses in excellent condition, but things happen on stage, in transit, and anytime people are nearby. I would prefer to take damage on the instrument's body and not the neck. A significant neck ding could mean replacement time or significant repair work for the neck. So, I'll keep my unbroken toe, thank you!

1. Does the broken toe guarantee the ding positively will not happen? Or vice versa?

x. Please define the extent of each injury; size, depth, amount of material involved, etc.

iv. Please define extent of pain. Must we see it happen? May we have anesthesia?

B. Can we procure the guarantee if we already have one or the other? Or must it be new?

III. How is the guarantee funded? What do we get if both happen?

f. Are any other injuries covered, under any circumstances, whatsoever?

■. What if a spaceship lands and . . . .
