Wounded Paw - Attack Goat Bass Fuzz

with the clean blend, does it keep the original tone? the only pedal i own with a clean blend is the digitech bass driver, and using its clean blend makes the unnaffected tone sound super flat and terrible.

also, the pedal seems to remind me of the rat2 in that it sounds pretty well defined. would you guys say it sounds like the rat2 with better low end?

Okay, I tried the Attack Goat yesterday afternoon at Paul's Boutique. Some thoughts based on 5-10 minutes playing time (bass was a Stingray, amp was some Peavey combo):

1. The blend knob never goes anywhere near fully clean - it just seems to dial enough clean to help you cut through.

2. Seems a great deal warmer in tone than the Big Muff. This is highly subjective but I do prefer the Goat to the Muff tone-wise.

Now at version 1.2
I made some minor changes to the tone section to make the mid scoop more balanced between bass and treble and switched a few pots around for better control of blend and tone. I will make these alterations for free to anyone who has a previous version (including the 3 knob original) and as of tomorrow the units at Paul's Boutique will be version 1.2

Also I'm now planning to make this in a wah/expression pedal shell so that you can use the foot rocker to control the blend. Might be interesting.

YAY! my Attack Goat arrived. I've tried out some settings and I can honestly say that zee BurgerMiester has stumbled upon what I would consider the sweet spot of this pedal:

(clip #3)
demonstrates one of my favorite settings so far.
settings:
clip #3: "tone" off, "drive" 3:00, "blend" 9:00.

Its just sooo saturated, yet you can still hear the clean bass. Kudos to Wounded Paw for creating this thing.

Now, I wonder what it would sound like thru a mild OD.... :D

Im gonna post my thoughts on this pedal in a couple of days at the most. I may even record some stuff direct out of the Goat. I can always fudge around with the EQ in audacity or something. Considering that the only EQ I use on my amp is -15db on the 8kHz shelving treble knob it shouldn't be too hard. The amp gives a pretty uncolored signal for being a 15W POS :p :D

Okay...you're as yet unqualified to give an opinion on amplifier interaction
