Wow! Prices sure jumped!!

I posted something similar for my Canadian TB brothers about a month ago. Hard to believe a 1x15, reasonably mass-produced, is worth $1K in our country. They seem to be bumping up against Bergantino-pricing.

Were these cabs ever made overseas? The first gen MB combos were made in China, then production came back to the USA for the mkII and prices understandably went up.

BTW China is the prime (only?) source for neodymium so I'm sure the current tarriff mess has something to do with it.

My main rig is a 1001RB-II and a NEO 412. It sounds wonderful and the quality is superb, but it's baffling that these have new street prices of $850 and $1500, respectively. However, I was fortunate to have picked up a new MB112-II recently, before pricing sky-rocketed to $400+.

Yeah, I have a MB212-II and a MB115-II. I paid $799 for the 212 and $399 for 115 a few years back. The prices have increased quite a bit since.

I track the price of neo drivers closely, since I enjoy building cabinets. The price of neo drivers has managed to remain a fairly flat line since a spike that occurred well over a decade ago. Specifically, DeltaLites and KappaLites, a variation of which is probably in many neo bass cabs, cost almost the same this morning as they did ten years ago.

I can't imagine the price of neo drivers skyrocketed for GK but not for guys buying a few drivers at a time!

There must be another explanation!

That’s putting their pricing up a lot closer to some of the higher end manufacturers/builders. Not that GK gear isn’t great, it’s just that in that (significantly higher) price range, there are a LOT more options.

I see them on craigslist 2-3 times per year the time for between 250 - 300. always passed cause it seems to good to be true

IIRC, I've seen that $850 price well before the tariffs were implemented... maybe SW '19 Jan-Mar catalog?

Something is up... pretty big increase, in a short period of time.

I don't want to sound political but isn't trade wars easy to win? Prices are raising everywhere. Tariffs are paid by American consumers never by country of origin. The worst thing is that once prices are raised they will never go down again.

Ditto on the 1001RBii, but split my 12's into 2 GKNeo 212s. The 412 won't fit my ride

Yeah but prices went up ahead of the tariffs. They view themselves as a premium brand and are proving accordingly. If they don't value their brand who Will? In their eyes charging less diminishes the brand and leaves money on the table.
