Wow! Prices sure jumped!!

If you think the same owner for 51 years and who lives a moderate lifestyle is greedy then I’m guessing you have little exsperiance around real finance professionals.

That is not a dig towards you, just the straight dope.
When I said greed, it was somewhat in jest, but a lot of manufacturers want to increase their profit margins. So maybe he is tired of living modestly?:)

In the case of GK, I don’t see greed in the equation. They have always overdelivered for the price, IMO. GK has to pay people to make this stuff so that those people can deal with the rising prices of everything that you and I are also experiencing every day. The glossy ads and presence in the marketplace might make it seem as much to the pedestrian anti-capitalist, but GK is no corporate vampire.
That may be the cause since they are in California. The state has forced companies to increase the minimum wage and they have raised business taxes quite a bit. Pretty much why so many companies are leaving this state. Very business unfriendly.

Hi Everyone...
I used to play Berg AE410s and Revsound cabinets before becoming a GK Artist.

I moved to GK because of the ‘sound’ not price.

Just because GK is building in the USA now and the prices are closer to the ‘existing boutiques’ does not mean they are not in that category.

IMHO their prices were are steal before and now they are just closer to ‘normal’ retail pricing for what they are.
Hi Tony! I get it. I really do but at the same time, the musicians who barely get by and are on a deep budget now have to go for the budget line or look elsewhere for gear in their budget. I guess I've been out of the loop and didn't notice the rising prices.

People deserve a living wage. Unfortunate about the tax situation, but I suppose people need roads to drive on.

CX cabinets. Too bad they don't do a 1x12 in this line.

Those are not budget cabinets, the pricing has fooled you.

The CX Line was designed when Neodymium prices skyrocketed, to be light weight, using traditional drivers, and one of the design goals was to make them affordable.

I have a brand new pair of the CX210 cabs that I pair with my beloved 700RB and the tone is as good as ever gotten anywhere in this universe.

I found the design info in a thread about the cabs that RAG posted a comment to prior to my purchase.

I get it man...I knew GK in general was less expensive retail wise then their contemplates. To be honest I never really watched the prices. I'm sure the Legacy 500 and CX410 cab would suffice for your average bassist and not break the bank.
