Wow! Prices sure jumped!!

Those are not budget cabinets, the pricing has fooled you.

The CX Line was designed when Neodymium prices skyrocketed, to be light weight, using traditional drivers, and one of the design goals was to make them affordable.

I have a brand new pair of the CX210 cabs that I pair with my beloved 700RB and the tone is as good as ever gotten anywhere in this universe.

I found the design info in a thread about the cabs that RAG posted a comment to prior to my purchase.
You're nitpicking. Compared to the Neo cabs pricing, these are 'budget' cabs but not to be confused with 'cheap' or 'non pro'. They are more affordable to the musician on a budget. And are very good cabs.

No I am not. These are high end cabs. That simple. I got some I knows.

So let me ask this are the more expensive cabs better?

Then after pricing Mesa's Neo 1x15 and GK's NEO 1X15, then price the GK CX1X15. To me this cab is better, it uses traditional ceramic drivers, has plenty of power handling, great specs otherwise, and weighs less than the Mesa Neo cab.

I wouldn't call it budget I would call it BONUS!

But didn't he move away from those designs?
The only info I have is how many folks here didn't like something about the low end, I never played one. I just remember many comments to that affect. Also the prevailing winds at the time was mixing driver sizes was a no no.

The dollar isn’t worth anything anymore. I remember when certain basses cost half as much as the exact same models do today. And today they are mainly made by machines. And I’m in my 30s so I’m not talking 50 years ago.... I think at some point people are just gonna say the hell with it and go to an ampless in ear setup or build their own cabs from kits and or from shared designs like the fearless/fearful stuff.

Or buy the CX line its the new hi tech BONUS line!:)

Plenty of folks who never played them commented on them, my guess based on anecdotes which for some strange reason is good enough for some folks.

I've used my Shroeder 1210L, an early ported neo cab, with very good results with fives and sixes. Funny thing... many of the folks who complain about a supposed lack of low end specs recommend getting high pass filters. Basically "give me specs down to 20hz so I can use a HPF to clean it up". But a cab that goes to 50hz is considered bad.
:D

The mixing drivers thing is more longstanding TB silliness. It is not a guaranteed fail.

Well FWER he went away from those designs for a reason. I was using Schroeder as a comparison. These look like old Schroeder designs to me.

And then my last stab at those BBC cabs is the 2200 watts thing, there is no way your going to cram 2200 watts into that small a cab and at that point I'm out because the specs are screwy.

Paging @JimmyM weren't you telling me your thoughts on super duper HP drivers in a normal sized cab the other day? Care to take a stab at 2200 watts in a standard sized speaker cab? [This invalid link has been removed]

You could ask Jorg directly, he'd probably tell you. My guess... as sales fall off, businesses look for new directions.

Unless you've looked at the internals of both cabs, I'm not clear on what about the BBC looks like the Schroeder. Hell, I own a Tech Soundsystems 1212 with angled internal driver and it doesn't look like a Schroeder either. The Schroeder was a direct descendant of the Tech Soundsystem. The BBC is not. It's a sealed cabinet.

The Matrix came about after I was forced out of the company. No clue what's up with it but I will say that asking someone else to guess about it... that works here but seems pointless.
:D

My Tank 1210 is rated at 1200w. I've cranked it with 1500w and 2500w rigs to test the limits. It gets way more than loud enough with my 800w Quilter. Power handling is often a bone of contention here when in reality, with 500w these cabs will get way too loud for most folks.

I think I can make a good guess in that you are not going to get 2200 watts into that cab. Unless there has been some quantum leap in driver technology we all don't know about it aint gonna happen. Its like me saying my pickup truck will do 400 miles and hour, well it looks good on paper. :D

But hey this is an internet forum and if it's posted here it's the gospel right?

Bass is a niche market, especially pro-bass. The Neo cabs are a niche in a niche market. Prices, on nearly everything haver been artificially restrained, since the 2008 recession (I remember hearing a report back then that financial recessions take a decade to recover, vs the usual 2-3 years for a demand recession). The reason the economy has been humming is we're finally dug out, but that means the suppressed prices, are making up for lost time. Inflation and rust never sleep.

Sure, wrong guesses are just as welcome here.
;)

If it's using two Faital Pro rated at 600w each and a 1,000w 15 I'd guess that's where he got the rating. If it performs similarly to the other Tanks I wouldn't want to be around hitting it with 1,000w watts.

I was shocked at the amount of power I found I could push my Tank 1012 with. You'd probably guess that I couldn't. And like most folks, maximum output isn't the point. I played outdoors Saturday night with minimal FOH and the sound engineer, out of the blue, told me I had one of the top three live bass tones he'd ever heard. Cut through effortlessly in the mix. I had the Master on the Quilter at 160w.

Its not really about the power rating of the drivers, its about the size of the box. At that box size 2200 watts is going to be a destructive force on the structure of the box itself.

I disagree about it not being about the power handling of the drivers. That's a huge factor in the performance. This is an unconventional layout in an unconventional box. For years people have been talking about modeling them. No one has.

1200w into my 18x18x18 cube was also determined to be untenable. Yet three years of steady gigging and the structure is still rock solid. That's from direct experience.

I seriously doubt that the cabs would be used at max volume for any real length of time unless you're going to run it with a wireless from across a large venue just for grins. So really... how useful is that measurement? Yet people dwell on it.

They posted it I didn't. :)
