Wow. These $39 fuses sure make a difference.

It's easy to make people feel insecure about their gear.This is rampant among musicians & audiophiles especially.

As Nick Lowe replied when asked what kind of amp he used "Big wooden ones".

Although it's not bass related Google search Peter Belt for some real audio insanity!

Using silver in a fuse is not all that far fetched.

Read up on Silver Sand Fuses for medium-high voltage applications.

The only place where a gold contact, silver conductor fuse might yield
interesting results for audio applications would possibly be in a speaker protection circuit.

I forget to mention - if these fuses cost just $1.50 or thereabouts, they would make no difference to sound quality and nobody would buy them. It's the price that makes them so very, very effective.

I think I'll go further and propose a new law of physics:

"Any perceived improvement by an audiophile, due to accessories that can have no physically explicable effect on system output, is in direct proportion to the amount they have spent to achieve it."

handles for those who insist on only the purest power connection to their
primary lines. :-)

For those already possessing the ESP Pro Power Cord I suppose it's a start. Now one just has to replace all the receptacles and Romex in the venues they play at, and convince the Utility companies to start upgrading the power grid and its gazillion miles of boring old cable and cheap shoddy non-audiophile transformers - and you'll be GOLDEN!

I can't wait to put my 56-foot wide headphones on and truly hear the glory of my vintage Fender bass for the first time!

Ironically, the mag that seemed to make the most difference in my understanding of live audio and acoustics got thrown under the bus maybe 10 years back - db magazine. Some may remember this as the place they read the 1976 article by Ron Wickersham and Don Davis about the Grateful Dead's WALL OF SOUND, a line array setup that was both backline, FOH, and monitoring - and the differential microphones the GD vocalists used to work effectively with that system.

First place I ever read about balanced/differential power (which is NOT snake oil - it can really make a difference), many trancducer and acoustical concepts, and saw how the heavy hitters were discovering and implimenting advances in the field. I got to stare at cubic kilometers of graphs and photos of immense and sophisticated SR rigs and fixed installations... Ah, without a doubt an amazing practical and educational resource never beholden to anything less than AES aspirations...

Crap. I'm not saying that they don't do something. I'm just saying that the HUMAN ear can't tell the difference. Anyone who says they can tell had better be ready to prove it to me (blind tests and all that). I knew a guy who spent $3500 (that's Three Thousand Five Hundred!!!!) on 2 (TWO!!!) 6 foot speaker cable and swore that his stereo was a waste of money until he had those cables. Again...CRAP!
