Dear [insert deity of choice here], that's some of the stupidest [insert expletive of choice here] I've ever read.
"Human beings do not like right angles..."
Has he ever talked to an engineer? Or a construction worker? Or an architect? Or a manufacturer? Or ANYONE who makes/builds/designs something? They LOVE right angles.![]()
I'm actually quite familiar with these. My former boss swore they made a difference and included them with our CD-player and amplifier. Apparently the direction you mount them in makes a difference as well. I did thorough listening tests and I was never able to discern a difference. One day he had a bunch of local audiophiles in to audition them. That morning, we had a bit of a falling out, so when he went out to lunch, I put the amp and CDP on the bench and hardwire bypassed all of the fuseholders out of spite. When the guys came in, they spent several hours auditioning various combinations of fuses and going on at length about the huge differences between them and regular fuses; between the various current values and in the direction they were installed. I never did tell them that they were listening to the same thing every time.![]()
It's all about the feng shui, dude...
Exactly. The results are purely psychological.
Perhaps Peter Belt is right about the foil, though. Why wear a foil hat to keep out the alien frequencies when all I need is a little foil square?![]()
Most likely they're standard fuses save for the packaging and the BS. A case could be made for an audio grade fuse if it's fusing the speaker, as it would then be in the signal path and could have an audible effect. But fuses are seldom used with speakers anyway, as they don't work very well there. As far as their effect on the sound of the amp in the power line: baloney. But as is always the case engineers who actually know how amplifiers work will be hooted down, while suckers... sorry, I meant uninformed consumers... who have no clue how amps work will insist that they can hear the unhearable. Whatever, it's their money. This way to The Great Egress.I looked on Bel Fuse's web site and didn't see any Audio Grade fuses and none of their slo-blow glass fuses are available with gold caps. Either they're specials or it's nonsense...
H.L. Mencken"No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public". I wish it was me that came up with that one, but it was someone else. Possibly Will Rogers or Mark Twain. If any of y'all know for sure, let us know.

If P.T. Barnum was alive today he'd probably be selling wire. Have you heard about the $150 wall outlet? This is not a joke, it really exists and people are buying them. When I first saw them I assumed the price was for a box of ten. It isn't.

YOU"RE MY HERO!!

The single most important thing in a hifi system is the room and it's so often overlooked.
So you don't think it would make your 10 SVT 4 Pros and your 40 810's sound better?

I can't wait to align all my screws on all my basses, amps & cabinets, etc.

Know how you "check" a fuse?

WOW.
He is either just laughing his ass off at people who actually believe and do what he says, or he is performing some "psychological experiment" in order to determine the absolute limits of human stupidity, while laughing his ass of course while he's at it.
Now if he believes it, then it's another story...
