I kind of wonder how durable this stuff will be against belt buckles and if it'll clean up after being on for a while.
I'd imagine not super well, but hey, don't do it to your 60's Fender.

I'm going to laminate the back. It's the same vinyl and laminate that I use to wrap cars/trucks

How 80's, how gaudy, how retro? How bad I want one!
I'd bet if you hung out a shingle for this service and made sure the cost was about half of a refin, you'd have more work than you could shake a stick at!

You bet. The thing about SX basses is they are cheap enough that you can have many of them. With wraps you can then change your bass image to fit your mood (or er ah music) like the way you change your clothes. Of course I love the look of my sunburst SX for that vintage vibe, but what about the NEXT SX...?

There is just one tiny bit of data yet to be acquired: Remember the guy here who claimed that copper foil shielding on his Strat ruined the tone? [Well, OK, we can make allowances for a guitar player] But the question remains, does a wrap does change the tone/sustain/other properties of the bass. It definitely changes the LOOKS... for the better!

what i would want is a flame job around a virgin de guadalupe (or something along those lines). i'm not catholic or even christian, but that would look dank as a dungeon (that's a good thing...).

you do some realistic 3d stuff like water droplets or even stuff like blood for all those metal fans..maybe some scifi stuff like LCDS and servos

Gotta say I love that original green.
But I think if I wanted a re-do on the bass I would probably paint it mustard yellow and put some fake bullet hole decals on it, along with an area that looks like the paint was peeled back and was showing erector set type of metal underneath----but that's me.
