Wrap My SX

Well for that matter, maybe a bass full of words on a theme in many different fonts and sizes would have some merit.... I had a shirt like that back in the 8o's and it was the F word in about 80 different fonts and in small phrases. Or it could be done with breasts and on and on and on...

"That's what she said" is pretty topical right now...

There is just one tiny bit of data yet to be acquired: Remember the guy here who claimed that copper foil shielding on his Strat ruined the tone? [Well, OK, we can make allowances for a guitar player] But the question remains, does a wrap does change the tone/sustain/other properties of the bass. It definitely changes the LOOKS... for the better!

We await the word.

I've been wondering also if the wrap will affect the tone. I should have the front wrap completed by the end of today and everything re-assemble. Pictures to follow in a bit.

Finally finished wrapping the front of the SX. Getting the vinyl to conform around the horns was a mofo. The next wrap will be easier/faster, learned allot on this wrap. My plan is wrap 2 for now. The SX and I have an Epi EB-0 that's next. I'll try them both out at the weekly open Blues jams. I want to note the tone changes, if any, and how the prints hold up. I'm going to remove both after about a month and check the finish. I don't expect any problems with this at all.

I was going to do away with the pick guard. What can I do around the neck pup?

brokencode - why remove it? if it looks good (and it does), why not just leave it? who cares about the finish underneath? also, didn't you say you were going to laminate it? that sounds kind of permanent. do what ya need to do, i guess. obviously i know nothing of your process, except the amazing results. looking forward to the epi...

Thanks Jo,

I used a liquid laminate so it (the vinyl) can easily be removed. It will not leave adhesive on the body. Why change the print? cause I can, and I have ADD!
