Wrist watches

I just picked up another G-Shock to wear on the bike. The Florida sun makes my black PVD coated watches HOT on my wrist. The big white watch on a colorful tattoo covered arm, on the Harley draws some looks :D

Casio G-Shock GA-100A-7ACR Watch - Cool Watches from Watchismo.com

The watch has some pros and cons. First, the skeletonized hands are hard to see. Also, the digital functions require me to wear glasses. On the plus side, it's very light, the light works well and is very bright and it takes a beating AND...........at only $109, I don't care if something terrible happens :D

Ahhh, watches and basses, together at last :)

These are my daily wearers (one on my wrist, the other in the winder on my bedside table).

This one has a really cool clear back so you can see the mechanics.

An earlier post asked why even wear a watch. I see it as two things (for me).

1. I appreciate the art, history, and engineering related to horology. When you think of the design and accuracy of a mechanical watch, it really is quite an amazing machine.

2. I also see my watches as "man jewelry". Besides my wedding band I don't wear anything else (i.e. earrings, chains, other rings, etc)

Would love to add a nice Panerai to the collection but getting harder to justify; of course, thinking of a trip to Florence next year :help:

I might have plugged him already in this thread, but my uncle builds custom watches and also does fantastic repair work. He just launched his website a few months ago, www.archerwatches.ca. I have no real affiliation with him other than him being my uncle and that he built me a fantastic watch, so I am a happy customer.

I wear a watch, because it completes an outfit. A good watch will really set off anything that you wear.

Nice. I finally got my first G Shock about 6 months ago. I was researching a good watch for my girlfriend to use while running, and found so much love for the Baby G's and G Shocks I ended up getting myself one not too long after.

Sorta, similar color/design even if the one I purchased is all digital, and looks much more like R2D2.:hmm:

You really cant beat them for the price, functionality and toughness. I get more people complimenting my big white G Shock than any of my other much more expensive watches. Antother really cool watch that's a little bit more than the G Shocks is the Casio Pathfinders. I use one for fishing and it tells me everything I could possibly want to know out on the water including compass and tide. It's also a big watch and works well in my fat wrists :)
