I pulled the trigger yesterday. I purchased an Omega Seamaster Professional 300m (Black face & dial).
The original idea was that I would buy it after I graduated with my Masters. I'm in my final course, and while it is challenging, I have no doubt that I will pass. Also, the MSRP just went up by $250 just this week - they honored the original price and discount, so I got a total of 20% off retail.
I can't wear it until I graduate (my own agreement with myself), so it is in the top of my closet, all boxed up. Incentive to study harder. I wore it around the mall last night - an awesome watch. Smooth & classy.
And yes, since "pics or no watch", I snapped a few before putting it away last night.

I used to be a collector of sorts. I've bought and sold many watches. I've owned anywhere from 25-50 watches at one point. But gave up the hobby. (It can get pretty expensive.) At my current budget...I just can't justify a Rolex or an Omega...
I currently own a few watches...here it is:
Seiko (Gold electroplate) Black dial. My first ever piece of credit from a jewelry store. Over 20 years old and works ok. Just needs a new battery every now and then.
Lassale (Gold) with beveled crystal. Currently a nice collector's watch, since they're no longer being produced.
G-shock 1990 model. Have had it since before I joined the Army out of HS. I've only need to replace the battery once and the faceplate once. Great hard knocks watch.
Gucci- gold- Stolen. Really miss that watch..I got real ticked off about that and went out on bought myself a Movado Juro (SS/Gold)
Wenger- SS/blue dial Swiss Army watch. Great watch for everyday and any occasion.
Guess- SS watch. Got it for my BD years ago. Have only replaced battery once.
Currently looking for a Wenger or Seiko as follows:
I don't like numbers on the dial (Looks tacky) to me.
I am looking for a white dial (if possible with date/day or date) with markers.
I also prefer screw down crowns. I need to stay under $300.00 if it's possible....so if any one wants to make a recommendation, PM me.
I don't think I'll ever buy a Rolex, but if I ever hit the lotto..I could justify a whole lotta gear...and at least one new watch...

These are my watches. The Nixon is made out of gun steel. It's heavy but waterproof, although I avoid surfing in it. The g-shock is a tough solar work horse that I picked up in Japan about 10 years ago. It's the Hawaiian lifeguard edition.
I bought my first Fossil six years ago on my birthday, a Big Tic where the face changes between black and red every two seconds. I took it in to the Fossil store a week or so ago to get the three batteries changes and something was apparently broken in it (I'm rough on my watches), so they're sending it off for warranty work (11 year warranty) and replacing the crystal which I'd chipped as well.
I was so happy with my first warranty experience with them that I bought a new Fossil on my birthday yesterday, leather band this time instead of metal and it has a timer built in, which is a little fancy for me but I'm happy with the look and feel of it.

I have a small collection, nothing expensive. I will start with the daily wearers, then move on to the specialty watches.
[Disclaimer: Pardon the large photo size, I am used to posting on watch forums, and they need to be big to enhance detail, there are some real sufferers of WAS there...]
First, my Invicta Pro Diver 8926A. This one is down for the moment with a loose minute hand, but, I wear it all the time for accuracy, dependability, and a rotating bezel for timing. The factory bracelet gave up on me, so it fell to the floor three times during class at R-V. That is why the minute hand is loose.
Next is a Casio Waveceptor Atomic/Solar watch. My next beater. Definitely accurate thanks to atomic technology, and charges itself, plus world time across the globe, chrono, timer, and five alarms. Love this one!
Now for general purpose, "just feel like wearing this one today" watches.

Now for the " needs the right occasion" watches
First is the Invicta Sandstone Classique, for the "pimp night at the club"
Then an IK (chinese company) skeleton mechanical, which my son Aaron bought me for christmas. It needs a dressy occasion, as the case diameter is around 35mm.
Next is a Lorelli titanium diver chrono, which my stepfather gave to me, when I told him " I want to find a watch with the sub-dials, like that one". I am eternally grateful and only wear this occasionally
Then, a Lucien Piccard dress watch, very small case, but looks good with a tie. MOP dial, chrono, tonneau case, just nice...
I also have a Timex caribiner watch, and a Molinja railroad pocketwatch, but this thread is for wristwatches. Knucklehead G was right, I tried on some amazing timepieces yesterday, but those were "grail" watches, which I can't even think about buying for quite a few years. There are some of those grails on this thread! Kudos to you! All of you have some very nice taste in regards to watches. Someone had also asked about the hands being set at 10 and 2 for photos, that is so that the logo and subdials will not be obscured by the hands, it is an industry standard. Thanks for looking!

anything fancier than a Citizen EcoDrive is more watch than I both need or could afford... but I sure do like the ones in this thread!

So, it tells time ,has a stop watch, does the date and is spalsh proof.
it must be about 10,11,or 12 years old as my ex-wife bought it for me for a b/day in my mid to late 20's. It scuffed a bit on the face ,the paint is worn through in the bezel ,hmmm ,the bracelet appears to have some of my dead skin in it in places.
Think I've changed the battery 3 times all in now.....someday I'd like something from the Tag Heuer range....but until I get the money.....the Accurist will do!!
Update!!! Finally got my TAG!!!
It's from the Formula 1 series, silver face with date and 3 dial chronograph!!
Still got the Accurist in a box in case I need it......well impressed with my TAG finally!!!

That's a pretty wide range there. I have a Citizen EcoDrive that's a $700 watch. That's not too much in terms of some of the watches here, but still a pretty penny.
