So, I'm 58 and have been playing since I was 14 and I never thought of this, or noticed anyone doing this before, but I was watching a video of the very talented Samantha Fish and noticed how she wears her watch:

Hmm hardly a secret, no? I have worn a mechanical watch of some sort every day since 1984 and I've noticed that at least a quarter of people wear it this way. It's a great way to protect your bezel and crown if you're working on truss or heavy gear and of course you can see the dial when you're playing.

The only upside I see is it allows for a casual, nonchalant glance without having to flip the wrist over, which IMO, would exhibit a blatant time check. If I wore my watch like that daily/at work, it'd be trashed in no time. When I wear it that is.

There is a massive watch forum I frequent called Watchuseek. Check it out, sometime, but be prepared to be overwhelmed (it makes TB look like a start-up).
Spot on. Worn a watch most of my 60 years and have been collecting them for about 20 years. Although most youth today use their phones, a few have taken up the mechanical watch mantle.
