Black Attitudes with their white pearloid pickguards/pup cover and black hardware make me think naughty thoughts. ;) All I've played have been tone machines, and I'd pick one over a Fender P in a heartbeat for a multitude of reasons (downsized body, top-rate electronics, Hipshot)

As I've said before, pound-for-pound Yammys hold their own with the best of them at all pricepoints, whether it be high-end (TRBs, upper BBs), midrange (BBs, Attitude II) and lower-end (BB's, RBXs).

My BB1500a. Slight mods include a white pearloid pickguard and a roller-style string tree. Still awaiting my Hipshot Ultralite tuners with Xtender. Extremely hard to find it in 1/2" string post with a gold Y key. Was thinking of dropping in the Aguilar OPB3 preamp...

hii guys! yamaha basses are sinply (as in really sinfully) gr8! had 2 BBs n a green rbx 765. but i sold em all.
tonally its allright for me wen nailing most pop songs. for these affordable basses, i tink changing the electronics cud be gd upgrade!

now had dis wicked attitude I, never looked back since!! it rawkz!! had to get used to the controls onstage, but dat goes wit more gigging. really luv the thunder blue/ pink (notice the pinkish hue on the neck, way cool!!)to the rest of the colors, but wud luv to have all the colors tho, hehe!!

I I was at GC today and was trying out a variety of 5ers. The tone I had in mind probably cannot be found at a GC but I ran into a 5string yamaha TRB. I can't describe the tone, but it was soo different. I was looking for something that would fit well into my SWR workingman 4004 setup. Although I havent tried the yamaha thoroughly enough, I think its a winner. It must have been a TRB5II. I think the body was ash and the neck was maple with a rosewood fretboard. I don't know what makes yamaha's sound so different from other basses?? I'm thinking maybe its the electronics... Anyway it was selling for 799.99 but as always I will attempt to talk the bass down to $600 flat and then use my $150 store credit to walk out with it for $450.

This wont be for another few months though. I need to finish learning\playing my 4banger and save up some extra dough. I think this yamaha may be the a step in the right direction towards my tone. Its too early to tell, but if it is, all I'll need is a tube preamp to fit inside the rackspace of my 4004

the thing with yamaha stuff... I wouldn't even bother upgrading anything on a TRB cause to me it would seem like a downgrade (if thats a word). The bridge pots and nut seem quality. I wouldn't dare touch the preamp or pickups. I'd be too scared to lose the yamaha tone that I believe comes from their electronics (but am unsure). the 3 band eq is GRRRRREEEAAT on the 5 string TRB (the one with the ash glossy finish on the body) I played. Seemed a little bright but that is where the preamp steps in. I am anti-mids especially for slap so just a quick adjustment and I'm ready to go.

ITs between that TRB or a 5string marcus miller that I am planning on testing out

1st of all is that the john pattucci 6 string 26 frett? cause i counted 24 I know he just came out with one that was red. and it was also in amber still is that the new one that just came out because you just don't know how bad :help: I want one of those :crying: the exact same color that you have but $725 :ninja: tell me the truth cause his older one that was a 1997 they are sellig it for $1,600 you could'nt have gotten that from a dealer. you had to have bought that off of someone and if you got it from a dealer then let me know which cause if thats so then everyone here is trying to match prices and that would save me some dollars. :help: just to let you know I dream of that bass.

I just played a TRB (5-string) at GC yesterday. I loved everything about it except the headstock (which just looks weird to me). Beautiful looking and so fun to play. It could have used a setup (hello, this is GC), but felt pretty good. I loved the neck - string spacing wasn't too tight, or too wide. I totally want one now.
