So pull the pot closest to the bridge up and I believe both pickups go to both outputs so you can use the one of your choice but I see most people seem to plug into the precision out when in stereo mode. Again, anyone feel free to correct me but that's my inexperienced understanding of it.

Ehm actually it goes like this (I used to own two MIJ Attitude Limited II for a relatively long time)

Front knob it's neck humbucker volume only;
Mid knob it's neck humbucker regular tone control (push) and/or neck humbucker highcut filter tone control (pull);
Rear knob it's splitcoil volume only (push) and/or default volume - both pickups wired in series - (pull).

Further more:
Front output it's neck humbucker only (rear knob pushed down: pickups wired in parallel);
Rear output it's splitcoil only (rear knob pushed down: pickups wired in parallel) and/or default output (rear knob pulled up: pickups wired in series).

Remember
"non black" colors are most value keepin' Attitudes out there

very first incarnations (blue an'pink ones) were just too few to be widely spread all over the market
startin' from first series of Attitude Limited II (seafoam green and black) then second series (lava red and black) and present Attitude III (sonic blue and black) seafom green, lavared and sonic blue are the most sought after ones on craigs lists all over the world
You'll be happy with it, but in case you didn't, you invested your hard earned cash pretty fine

Hey all! I was wondering if someone could take a pic of the output jack cavity on an Attitude III. I have one of the dual jack plates and was wanting to install it on my Attitude Special, but I'm unsure how to make enough room for the actual jacks inside the cavity, plus where the wires would go. It may be an impossible thing to do without a CNC machine, but I thought it would at least be worth investigating. Thanks!!

Hi there, I need your help and advice, I've found in my city a Yamaha Attitude Custom in a very fair price $450, I'm tempted to buy it but I don't really know if is a good move, I've heard amazing things about the LTD but not too many information about the custom, I read that about the humbucker raising mod, seems a good thing.. and this is how the other models have their humbucker....I'm mainly playing prog rock and post rock, so I'm very interested in split my signal in dirty and clean and not get lost in the mix.

My 1990 Attitude Custom.
Dimarzio (DP-125) X2N-B humbucker under the pickguard (like the Attitude Ltd v1).
P pickup by Yamaha...maybe?
Piezo pickup under each bridge saddle.

I think I would like to make a cut-out in the pickguard like the Attitude V3 to allow raising the humbucker, anybody who has done that please tell me what you can.
I was thinking a Black/Creme/Black pickguard might look better with this paint color.
Those of you who have owned the Attitude Custom v1....do you know who made the P pickup? Looks to be well made and it has the brass ground plate under it like Fender does.

So I just grabbed this 90's-era Yamaha Attitude Deluxe in very good condition. I have to tell ya, it's a pretty awesome bass.

Very straight neck, level frets, LOW, action. Plus the multi-coil pickup with 5-way selector makes it very versatile with lots of tonal options . There is a P coil selection, J bass too and others. Pretty damn cool!
Anyway, these seem to be pretty far and in-between. Dare I say rare? Time for some pics....

That Deluxe looks like it is in really nice shape.:bassist:

Do the six back screws (in the three plates):
...go into neck wood?
...or into threaded insets in the neck heel?
...or is there an extruded aluminum piece under the pickguard?

I assume the pickup is passive?
Is the pickup humbucking in every switch position?
How wide is the neck at the nut?
My Custom above is 1-11/16" at the nut.

I like the charcoal metal-flake paint job, I think it would look killer with a black guard or a tort pickguard.
