P and J go into a 4-position-rotary-switch: 1 -> mute / 2 -> P / 3 -> both in parallel / 4 -> J
The 2nd pot controls volume to this, then it goes into one of the jacks.
The woofer goes directly into the other jack. (Passive adding of the woofer does not work very well, IMHO)
Now go from the jacks into a Boss LS-2, and you can mix and switch much better.

hey all , i have a late 80's/early 90's Yamaha Attitude bass with the single 6 pack pickup in it , was wondering if anyone has measurement info on this , I need neck relief, string height and pickup height , doing a string change and she needs a setup

My Yamaha Attitude LTD II, complete with Lace Alumitone P and J pickups. The sound is outrageously good.
I think the whole "big neck" thing is overstated or at least, too much importance is attached to it. Yep, it's a big neck but it still feels very fast and it's so comfy to play. It fits the hand very well and the satin finish on the back of the neck is probably the best I've felt on any instrument.

Neck relief .006 to .012
String height .080 or less.
Pickups is totally your choice to how they sound good to you.
Bit of a long shot here, but does anyone know a company that has a template for an Attitude LTD III pickguard? I'd like to get a mint green one to replace the white pearloid.
Based on some feedback from an excellent local luthier sending in a hand traced template doesn't sound like the ideal solution for a great result, but I'm certainly open to feedback from anyone that has gone that route.

There has been discussion on the Attitude FB page about this....PickGuardian can do it but will need a template and will charge 80.00 to make the first one.
Apparently Pickguard planet/Chandler Music does not have a template for these. This is the response I got.
"we don't have that exact model. if you send us the guard, we can duplicate from it."

Actually they only wanted $56. I saw one of Jon Willis' youtube videos where he has a black LTD III with a tort guard. I sent him a PM but haven't heard back yet. Doesn't look like he's on TB much anymore.
Pickguard Planet makes pickguards for the Yamaha Attitude Custom bass and that pickguard is the same shape as the Attitude LTD.
All they need to do is know where the woofer pickup and the holes for the pots are.
The split P pickup hole is already there and in the correct position.

unfortunately, they don't show the LTDs....it would be a tracing....Thanks for the info!
Yes that's true, they've done the Attitude Custom and not the Attitude LTD...but they at least already have the program for the outline and the screw holes and the split p pickup.
I would guess a tracing that shows the woofer pickup holes and the pot holes would give them what they need, the pickguard outline shape and the screw holes are done, which is the harder part.
Sounds good in theory but they wanted me to send the original guard to them rather than a tracing.

I have recently picked up a attitude version 1 and I wanted to know what is the best way to use both pickups? I have a splitter, but it loses the volume control of the pickups when I use it. Is there a way to run one cable and still have full control of both pickups?
