Wow...I've looked over the two Yamaha Club threads over the past few days and the numbers are really FUBAR'd. Lots of skipped numbers; doubly-assigned numbers (one member actually has three numbers assigned!); some PM'd assignments (no public numbering).

I know it's all for fun, but dangme. There's actually over 320 assignments by my estimate.

Any suggestions? Y'all want to see a list here? It won't be pretty, but it'll be inclusive.

I like the way the SX club does it. No numbers you just put SX member in good standing.

I don't think we need numbers, just have a bass for the club and can say we're a member.

Got the BB1024X today. Will do a setup with my favorite strings and give photos and review. I won't be in the "honeymoon" phase because I am really picky and I always keep an instrument from objective thorough reviews.

Here's the BB1024X in details:

I've brought the bass home and set it up with my favorite strings, D'Addario Chromes 50-105. I've straightened the neck a little. The truss rod adjusted really smoothly.

Fit & finish: The paint finish is superb. No lines in the paint job. Real smooth. In one of the pictures, you can see that the pickguard has a little cut flaw near the neck. The neck pocket is tight, although as you can see in one of the pics, it's a little off. It was worse when it arrived. I tightened the neck screws, some were a little loose, and it improved alot. The D string can't go fully down in the nut slot with this gauge, but not fret buzzes. Action after setup is 0.1mm lower than my CV P bass with no fret buzz. The fret are not jumbo but probably medium. The neck feels smooth, although it could have been a little more sanded down to get a little smoother - I can feel the grain of the Naruto wood piece near the neck pocket, but I can honestly say that it doesn't bother me that much and won't slow down my playing.

Sound: Amazing... I guess this one is really subjective and you'll have to try it yourself, but I really like what I hear from this bass. What is nice is the pickup switch.

Thoughts: After playing it all night and after doing the same thing with my recently ordered and returned Fender Am. Standard Jazz, I am more inclined to keep this one than the Jazz. It feels solid, no fret buzzes, low action, great sound.

It does have some slight neck dive. Nothing too serious.

Bottom line: I will give another review later, but for now, I am probably going to keep it. For the price I think it is worth it and is of good quality, even if made in Indonesia.

Played a 2024 today..... To quote Darth Vader... Impressive, Most Impressive!

The weight was very nice not too heavy maybe around 9lbs. The tone was very warm. I love the strings on it. Tried to buy a set but was told they're factory direct.

Overall it was very good...... excellent build and craftmanship. Add the great tone and right weight ..I dare say its a winner.

jhay: That's the first "lawsuit" Yamaha jazz bass I've ever seen (I've seen Superbass Precision copies before). What does that date back to? Looks to be in really good shape.

Thank you ZubenElGenubi. The Ibanez looks great in pictures but not the same if you look closer ). I have many scratches there on the buddy but anyway. I like it because it's mai second bass guitar...If you have the opportunity please check the trb5p version. It's great.

Is that a bass from the Fujigen Gakki factory maybe? Looks like one... And Fujigen Gakki has produced instruments for Yamaha.
