after more research, it's a BBN4II

FS: Yamaha BBN4 II

Hello. I just posted this in the general area as well. So apologies for doubling down. Hopefully someone who owns a RBX774 or a NE2 can answer this. I'm wondering if the monorail bridge is recessed. Someone local is selling a set of them and I would like to replace them on another bass I own as these seem to be sturdier.
Also wondering if I can become a member of the club. Longtime BB404 owner! And previously TRB1004 as well.
Thank you!

Hello Yamaha players, can you guys give me some feedback on the BB714BS P pickups?

I am buying one locally (my first Yamaha bass) but there is not a lot of reference over the net. I see a couple reviews saying the woofer pickup is fine, but the P pickup might be average or less but I also watched a few (old) videos on Youtube and the pickups sounded ok.

The bass I am buying seems to be in great shape and the price is good, but won't do me any good if I have to swap the P pickups to get a richer tone out of it.

I appreciate the help.

Hi all,
I am officially in the Yamaha club.
Work trip to Japan this week netted me a BJ-5B.
I see this was last mentioned in 2006 on here, so for a bit of a reminder.

Signature bass of Terry & the Blue Jeans (had matching guitars too).
Limited to 50 made.
Pearlesent white with all gold hardware and zero fret.
Mine has immaculate orginal case and all the original docs and case candy.
Sounds fantastic.

What a cool find, what an axe.

This is what I'm going to miss with Yamaha running there guitar ops out of America. Time was you could go to Yamaha's home website and see all kinds of different axes we never saw here (like this gem), and now, it will all consolidate to a world range, the same most places. Oh well . . . . at least I can go to ESP in Japan on the web and see all matter of 'different' axes.

The funny thing about that shape, if you flipped it over, hung the strap off the long horn and moved the controls to that side, it still works.

Congrats on a Very Rare Bird !
