It's my cheapest bass, not my best (not by far), but still I love it!

Hi everybody I own a rbx 374 bass and I must say i am really impressed with both the price and the playability, one of the most comfortable neck ever played. However I would like to ask does anybody know anything about the rbx a2 ?

Hi all , I need some help!

What do you think, is it worth selling a TRB6II and buy a TRB5P is they are in about the same prize?
I have never had the occasion to try a bass from the first series os TRBs, and also not to try a neckthrough TRB with piezos.
So, what about tone, is the good old (about 20 years) TRB5P better then a 5 years old TRB6II?

Thanks for opinions, experiences and everything!

Adam

Hey

Anyone in the Yamaha Club who has an RBX-774, would you be able to give me the length and width dimensions of the pickups? (neck or bridge pup, it doesnt matter). :) I'm going to be getting a pair of these to replace the pups in my RBX-374. Cheers :bassist:

Well I played my Yamaha RBX170 again last night at church...:) :) :)

My set up: Yamaha RBX-170 with series mod (like S1) --> Zoom B2.1u --> DI from Zoom to F.O.H.
...............................................................................Zoom B2.1u Out --> Laney HC60 Combo Amp (used for Fallback purposes)

Strings....D'Addario XL nickel rounds (0.100, 0.085, 0.065, 0.045)

I just love the sounds I can get from this thing....and the action is perfect...it's low and tight, but I can still really dig in and when I do, it just growls at me.

Yamaha RBX necks are GREAT...the tight feel is just amazing for such an inexpensive instrument...

I still use the series mode on a few songs...and it really does give a deep-round, strong tone that some songs require....
Other songs, need a little more attack, so I stick to the normal mode with both pickups....(I can get a pretty good jazz-like tone from this thing for the swingin' gospel stuff, when I need it)
On the mellower stuff, I've been playing more with the P-pickup only and fingers more toward neck...

Last night, we were practicing before hand, and we were going over a song....it had a very modern rock feel about it.....I thought, this song is dying for a pick (now I NEVER play pick on a bass, but this song was just calling for one)....so I borrowed one from the guitarist, and "YES"...it was just what the song needed, good strong attack to really just drive it....I played the pick with the tone knob dialed half-way off, P-pickup only, and used the side of my hand to control the ringing....(I may have to employ more picking technique)

But I just want to say this....Kudos to Yamaha....I've got a GREAT bass, that I only paide $150 for used and it's all I really need at the moment...(that's a good thing, too...because I don't have any $$$ in my budget)...my other basses have been waiting patiently for a chance to be used, but at the moment, I just can't seem find a reason to...:)

awww I want a number too!
I'll try and upload pics tomorrow...

I been playing around with my zoom B2, a bit of fun but think once I edit the patches and save them it will be alot better :)

had my first lesson with a teacher last saturday and so can't wait till my next one,... have to see how much I can cram into 30 mins to pick his brains!

This is yours truly with my BB415. It plays sweet, and sounds classy, but I'm thinking of stripping off the black and putting a clear satin on it....
