I've noticed on Hook's Instagram that it looks like he's using a gloss black bbph. Not a satin black bb734a even. Wonder if a new run is coming soon in a black colorway.

Thinking of selling my BBPH - just finding I'm using my BB734A more
I find the reversed P set up sounds great for the upper melodic Hooky riffs but I'm not as keen on the lower register sound that I'm having to play in most bands that are not Hooky related. Maybe my ear if just more used to the typical Fender tone.

He used the BBPH when I saw him last year and again at the Isle of Wight festival a few months ago. I wouldn't expect another run given all the other pies Yamaha have a finger, most of which will likely have a wider consumer base than a BBPH.

This is the first time I've seen this new bass, so it checks out that it might be new. Any idea for why he'd have this new colorway? I included some screenshots of the bass in my post. Only thing I can think of is he got another one custom.

Have now come off the fence and decided to sell mine - the BB734A does everything I need and is a tad more versatile for the band i'm currently in

When the BBPH came out I already had a BB734a and so I decided I didn't need a BBPH. Glad I got that one right.
