Yeah, a lot of you will HATE this !

Wait. You didn't EARN this? You created it in one single day?

By all that is holy and honest, this is immoral. You have to play your bass for at least 9.732 years to be
allowed to have that kind of finish. Otherwise, you are a liar, not worthy of your paycheck, have sinned, and of course, I hate you.

BTW, if you really want a relic, I will do it for you, OK??? And I know how, and I might just do it to YOU, too, so watch out! My truck and a heavy chain are all I need, OK? Dratted Weinnie new-bie liberal liar jerks!

What a poser. You probably don't even have a regular 5 nights a week all roadhouse all the time cover band (chicks and liver damage galore) gig, right? So you can NEVER earn it, so there! LOL!

:D :D :D

Apologies, kinda, to the real haters. I just love the smell of silly fear. :hiding:

Thanks - that was the best laugh I've had all day ! :D

Seriously though, I just have a hard time with shiny new guitars. I guess it comes from playing old, beat p stuff for so long.

Diluted amber shellac with a nitro top coat. For 50's/60's style basses I'd go more amber, but a 70's will only be a little bit tinted in most cases.

Thanks, I might have some stuff to try that...SherwinWilliams sanding sealer and a spray can of Deft. I'll be switching the neck on my P soon and the replacement is almost lilly white (other than the rosewood 'board).

As long as you rub down the lacquer it feels fantastic. Here are a couple other nitro/shellac necks I've done. There are a few tricks I'll keep to myself, but this should give you the idea.
