They look great.

I'm not going for a reliced look, just want to darken it a bit so it won't look like it's made from printer paper.

Go half and half with clear shellac and amber shellac. Put on a coat, let it dry. Rub down with steel wool. If you want it darker, repeat. After you get it to the desired tone, steel wool, then shoot deft/nitro clear coat and let it dry. A bit more steel wool or a pad and you're good to go.

As long as you rub down the lacquer it feels fantastic. Here are a couple other nitro/shellac necks I've done. There are a few tricks I'll keep to myself, but this should give you the idea.

Looks killer!! I was hoping for the sonic blue, but the black looks comfy and like an old glove.

I know I'm not the only one thinking that landscaping you got there is in on the relic job.

Yeah, I was so close on going sonic, but I love black and maple with a black guard. I used to have a 72 Tele Bass that was black and maple, so this is my replacement for it !

I need to plant some of that wondergrass ! Texas during a draught = not much grass.

Wow, I hadn't seen that ! I like parts of it, parts I don't. For some reaon it looks "pieced together", instead of a cohesive unit. Still, I dig the DS pickups. I'd have to ditch that pickguard though.

Darkstars, TV yellow, Bakelite guard. Hmmm.
