Cell phones are alright. I look at TB on my phone, do a lot of impromptu on the spot research on my phone, i write on it, take notes on it, use its camera often for quick pics of my baby boy before the moment is gone, i run music practice apps on it, use it as a media center remote, and lots lots more. These things are tools, and as such, they are mostly limited by the imagination of the user. Sure, they can be distracting if you're into Facebook and Twitter and Instagram and Pinterest and the like, but if you aren't into that stuff (I'm not), then they're really quite handy.
