You know your a bassist if:

-you play bass

-you have a cd full of just songs u love the bass lines to (guilty 3 times :D )

-you walk around and your index and middle finger just move subcoinciously.

-You show EVERYONE the new bassline you wrote/learnt regardless of whether they care.

-you instinctavely beat the living snot out of anyone who disses you or your bass or bass in general.

-you either have really long hair, or very short hair.

-Your able to stack 9 ciggarette packets on tom of each other and pick them up between ur minndle finger and thumb.

bought car around bass gear...

GUILTY! Best thing I ever did. :D

Also, you are a bass player if:

-You know more about everybody's gear in the band than they themself do and make all the gear purchases

-Your car/truck/van is the most beat up because of hauling gear

-You're the only one in the band who has some grasp of what EQ can really do, other than "make the treble/bass higher"

-You listen to your rhythm guitars rig intently to make sure he isn't muscling anywhere near your territory

-You're the only one in the band who knows what "DI" is and what it's for

-You're the only one in the band who doesn't come to rehearsal and they can play the whole set straight through

-You almost always pick up an acoustic guitar and start off bass playing for laughs

-You can't wipe the smile off your face when you put on your bandmates' guitars and keep saying "Wow, it's so light!"

-You always mutter under your breath "man, if I played rhythm/lead, I'd be so crazy!"

-You introduced your bandmates to the alternative of using a rack mounted rig...and they thought you were insane

-Your bandmates are always puzzled why your rig is always evolving and changing while theirs hasn't changed since the band started (or they say "why do you keep buying new stuff?")

At least these are true for me... :D

- You cheered or laughed loudly at the cello-bass guitar scene in the movie "School of Rock."

Come on folks, feel free to add.

I do these all the time! I still laugh at that cello thing too...

here's another one

-when you listen to a song with a bassline you know, your hand twitches.

or maybe its just me who does that?

You know you're a bassist if

-You get kicked out of a band you started and are willing to accept their apologies when they come groveling back to you.

-You care more about what the song sounds like than what you personally have to play

-When you write yourself a boring part to make the song sound good

-When you are the only person not complaining about having to play a boring part

-When you know that circle progression is not walking in a circle that gets bigger and bigger

- Your WindowsXP user icon is that bass guitar.

Mmrph.. I had just gotten to know that the bass I ordered was stolen from the warehouse and that I couldn't get it after all.. ...this after three weeks of waiting.
The same day I installed XP, and what do I see? That bass user icon.
What does it look like? Good, but very much like the bass I had just gotten to know that I wouldn't get. :rollno:

..the bass I ordered was this one: http://www.floresmusic.com/jpg_images/LTD C305.jpg

not identical, but pretty similar.

- You've unconsciously misopronounced the name of a fish with a familiar spelling.

- You've parked your car in a parking lot that didn't have any parking space lines and went, "Ooh, fretless!"

- Your WindowsXP user icon is that bass guitar.

- While at a car dealership and looking at a pickup truck, you ask if it's got a P or a J.

Come on folks, feel free to add.
The windows XP bass icon, what is that bass? It looks kinda like a Tobias, but isnt. Any ideas?
