You might be a Californian if...........?

slobake you're tripping KFC is delicious. Chicken & waffles is all good in my book though :D

When the average employee is under the age of 18 I tend to stay away. I know because I used to work in a slop shop (That's what people in the industry call them) when I was a teenager. Eat at your own risk, that's all I'm saying. :hiding:

I miss Pioneer Chicken

Oh in answer to your question....man i don't know. It's a toss up for me :D

There was a Pioneer Chicken in Pacific Beach when i was a kid. Fantastic fried chicken.

KFC slaw is good... not great but good. Personally i call the place Kinda Funny Chicken as you're never really sure what part of the bird it comes from..

theres a pioneer on olympic/fairfax maybe it's the last one left.

The burrito was invented in SF after all. South of the border, aside from tourist areas catering to Americans, Mexicans don't seem to know what burritos are.

And a huge +1 for taco trucks. It can be a little weird eating at a roach coach if you're not used to that but many offer good and affordable food. The exceptional ones around here get 30 minute waits going around lunchtime.

Californians also have a different idea of what a burrito is than most parts of the country. It's fun when friends from back home visit and I get to introduce them to real burritos.

Mission dist is good but we have you beat.

Have you been to tecate? Best carne asada in the history of best.

Anyone for Shwarma? Some nice places here in the Mission. One place near 16th and Valencia serves it with a killer garlic sauce. I love eating there, my wife hates it when I do. :D Besides Iron Man loves shwarma too.

I love the beef/lamb but I only recently discovered chicken shawarma. I'm cutting down on red meat and this new discovery is helping me do it. The place I get it from makes it a bit spicy and I can't get enough of it.
