I remember that band! When I was 15 my band opened for those guys at Cogan's in Norfolk (when it was still a dive, before it was a pizza joint). I broke a bass string on my Squier and Shaun Cooper handed me his J-bass and I finished the set on that, felt like such a rockstarNice work btw, way to think outside the box

I feel like the more I'm doing this the better I'm getting and at the same time feeling I'm getting worst. Weird feeling. I guess there is things that get's better and thing that I'm just getting better at hearing that make it feel worst... Sometime I feel like I'm nailing the pitch and then I let it go for a while and when I go back I think, how did I let that pass.

Barbecue joint near downtown Dallas. I remember this being in the middle of a brutal summer and having to carry my stuff up a twisting flight of stairs to set up.

@Carl Hillman Yeah... Nice bouncy groove and sound, and nice solo! I hate playing when it's super humid and everything sticks to the strings, but you managed better than I would have. Well done. And again, a nice groove from a minimalist kit.

Thanks! That's my main bass. I ordered a laminate version of the same model and had Nnick Lloyd set it up exactly the same down to the millimeter, and that one stays at school for teaching, rehearsing, and less important events. Info on the two can be found [Invalid or Expired Link Removed].
The bowed solo was written at Sid's request, with instructions to either play it or improvise parts or all of it when the time came. The piano solo was entirely improvised.
On a side note, have you ever considered using any hand bass percussion on your videos, sort of Ben-Ezra style, only overdubbed? Since the source material is pop songs, I think that would sound really cool, and probably be a lot of fun. And I bet it would be a blast figuring out all the different ways to mic a bass for percussive effects.
@getrhythm I've always wanted to properly learn play that style of bass. Do you have any videos of you playing in a group like that without a drummer?

She keeps on saying the same thing. On a more serious note, I'm trying to challenge myself at only using "one line" per instrument and avoiding overdub. But I am considering it, at every new arrangement I find new way of incorporating different technic and using the bass as a percussion instrument is something I have a really hard time but that I want to do. I'll check more of Ben Erza. Thanks for refering me to Ben, if you have other in mind that does that send them my way please.

This right here. Love the instrumentation, love the tempo, love her voice. I can't say enough about it, and I hope management allows you to do it this way again from time to time.
Sorry sir, I do not. Check out old (or modern) rockabilly and country videos on youtube. You might find some without drums or at least without overpowering drumming.

There are some great players in Dallas, and Andrew Griffith is one of the most swingingest drummers I've ever played with.
