So we're not going to talk about the giant stuffed creature serving as the drum tech?
When a guy tours with Joe Henderson and Stan Getz as a teenager, he can decorate his house anyway he wants AFAIC.
Seriously, the story with that is that when his daughter was little, that room was a playroom with a hugely fuzzy shag carpet and a couple of giant stuffed bears for her. Now that she's older, he uses that stuff as sound treatment for the room when he records. Plus, he has a pretty warped sense of humor and little sense of propriety. We literally refer to him as "Badger" as in "Honey Badger"...another creature who just does whatever the **** he wants and doesn't ask permission. My badger brother is a true beast in every way.

Here's a spinoff of the version of "Invitation" I posted earlier, only featuring Craig Wagner on guitar instead of Gabe Evens on piano. Warning to jazz purists: Craig recorded this a few days after Eddie Van Halen passed and took the opportunity to record his part in Eddie's honor. I'm not kidding, and neither was Craig.
Sounds great. I love the powerful solo gtr on top of wonderfully " messy " jazz comping. I think it creates a cool contradiction and tension, and I think that the mourning of the guitarist can be heard and felt. RIP King Edward.
Some more prog rock. Bill Brufords "Hell's Bells" doublebazed. From the 1979 album "One of a Kind". Bill Bruford, Allan Holdsworth, Jeff Berlin, Dave Stewart. Theme composed by Alan Gowen and Dave Stewart. It's mostly in 19/8 (7+7+5) by the way.

I’ve been telling myself I should do this piece for a long time. Here is Victor Piano Solo from the Corpse Bride. Tim Burton universe is perfect for this Halloween week. Plus, I try using a green screen for the first time. It ain’t perfect but was still worth a shot.

Johannes Sperger, Romanze arranged for five double basses by Christine Hoock
Once a day since last Saturday, I’ve been recording a version of this jazz standard. Every time, I waited for the next day to listen to it. I hear a difference in the final result, I could have kept on going for another month. But before it becomes an obsession, I decided to stop. The more I work with both bass and double bass, the more I hear differences in my approach of each instrument.
A live stream from a few months ago just posted to YT, the first two minutes are the usual "is this thing on?"
