Your 3 ultimate rig's

I like option #3. :)

However, I use Bag Ends instead of the El Whappo. In my experience, they get the sound "out there" into the audience a little better. They don't necessarily have the spectacular low end of and El Whappo, but the flip side of that is, they put the power where it counts. I have some stunning sound clips of mic'd Bag Ends, where the speakers are being pushed just to the point where their cones are about to pop out of their sockets. Spectacular sound! Drop me a PM if you'd like to hear a clip. :)

for my application, this is what works for me...and I don't want to buy anything else...so I guess that counts as "ultimate rigs".

71 SVT with 8X10

SVT-II (non-pro) with one or two Eden D-210XLT cabs

66 Ampeg B-15

like non, i'm partial to the bag end 1x15/1x12 stacks. however, there are a ton of cabs out there i like (the epi 310 ul is on the top of my short list at the moment) and i havent even tried accugroove or ea stuff.

amp wise, i'm big into the 750, and i'm really intrigued by the t-funk. otherwise i ding my stewart 2.1 and demeter preamp, but i'm jonesing to get another alembic preamp and superfilter one day, not to mention an aggie 680/728 rig would be nice. oh crap, that's 4 or 5 huh?

Let's try these three:

#1) "Big Rig: Solid State"
Eden Navigator=>QSC PLX 3002=>Accugroove Whappo, Jr. and Tri 210L

#2) "Mini Rig"
Walter Woods Ultra=>two EA VL-208's

#3) "Big Rig: Tube"
Mesa Boogie Walkabout (as preamp)=>Mesa Boogie Strategy 400=>Bergantino NV215 and NV610

I agree. I am happy with what I have.

Boss TU-2 Tuner Pedal
PreSonus Blue Max Compressor
SansAmp BDDI
Avalon U5

QSC PLX 1202 Power Amp

Bergantino HT112

For larger gigs (that I don't usually do) another HT112 would be nice.

I also have a big Acoustic rig, which serves us very well for certain types of gigs. There's an Acoustic 370, and a pair of 301 cabs. It's definitely an "old school" sound, but it also gets the job done. I like that rig almost as much as I like the WW Ultra with the Bag End's. :)
