My default 2nd place is the Line6 Helix 3.5 update. Not necessarily everything I would use, but enough items that I did another deep programming dive and learned new things about some of my favorite gear: HX Effects and HX Stomp.

I agree, not everything I use either, but there's some nice stuff in that 3.5 update. Love the new 4-Voice Chorus for 80's stuff.

I'm downsizing, so I boxed up and closeted all but one of my individual and traded that pedal for a used B3N. It has hugely expanded my available tones while greatly simplifying things for me. YMMV....

* Because I'm a dinosaur I finally got a Tech 21 VTDI; really like this so far.

Source Audio Atlas Compressor, the pedal I had been wanting from SA since the UltraWave's amazing compressor. And did it deliver the total Source Audio Compressor to Rule Them All? To me, it absolutely did, in spades. For bass, it gave me a little extra depth on the bottom end, with added clarity and definition, evened out the highs, and gave me a nice solid sound. The LA-2A ended up my favorite on bass; the 1176, Orange Squeezer Expander, Dual Jangle among my favorites for guitar. That it has all of those sounds built right into it is one thing, but then being able to tweak it, along with HPF/LPF, this was a grand slam.

There have been some great pedals that I've bought this year but I have to choose the Nux Mighty Plug Pro, that was the last thing I bought in 2022.
It just sounds great and is super versatile. I love it on bass and on guitar and it makes my life super easy. It has some good sounding bass amps in it and although the effects are not mindblowing they're quite usable.
And now I can also properly record my bass with my cellphone. It sounds really good with it. I bought just to have a good sounding solution to pratice and play at home or on a trip but I got so much more.

Nothing weird in that question. Most pedals, including comps, can be powered either by batteries or some powersource.
But not this pedal, no battery compartment. I'm using a 1Spot Pro CS-7.

I wouldn't say that "most" pedals can be powered by batteries unless you mean with a battery adapter. Battery compartments for newer pedals are very rare outside of Boss.
